Coworker said weird thing to me... hmm??

To Littlefroggy & all ~ I got my lapband last August (2007) & have lost almost 50 lbs although before the surgery the few people I told were sceptical & unsupportive -now the proof is in my figure!! It's a slow loss but a continuous loss and I am so grateful that I made the decision to get my band. It has really changed my life!! I tried every diet on earth & nothing worked plus maintaining even a 2 pound loss was utter hell!!! Now I simply loose without counting calories etc...Everything is portion controlled & I can enjoy life like I was always supposed to!!! Yes, there can be issues but you need to stay in contact with your doctor because everyone looses differently but ultimately you will loose & you will maintain & I can't stress how much happier you will be!!! You know when you have to make a decision for yourself for the positive & weather other peope agree is none of their business~ do this for yourself!!! Everyone wants to just take a magic pill & be skinny but in reality the first step is supporting your own decision and staying ture to your own goal by looking at your past & then getting all the facts to support a positive decsion for the future. You wont' be sorry believe me and a years from now I doubt any of those people will have anything but compliments to say to you..

    Nutrisystem

Arkie~Don't order Nutrasystem- it tastes like poo... My husband & I ordered it last Jan. 2007 (before I was banded this Aug.) & when we sent it all back the guy at the Post office asked us if we had anything toxic in the packages & my husband answered ~"only if you eat it!!!" Anyhow- if you think you need food control- Jenny Craig has the best tasting food of all the Diet programs I've tried & they were about the cheapest. All I can say about Nutrasystems is that if you can stay on that stuff then you must be able to eat dirt..Plus, there is no way can stand that forever!!!.. I know that Tori Spelling is touting it now but don't let that fool you -it's absolutely horrible & with all her money why she doesn't just do that instant gormet food delivery like all the other stars do makes me really wonde rif she is crazy or just wants endorsement money....... 3. I'm with you all~ I had my surgery the end of Sept. & had my 1st fill 2 weeks ago & am eating pretty much everything which has me worried I wasted my money BUT my 2nd fill is this Tues. & my doctor says I'm right ontrack. I look forward to some BIG losses in the next month & decided that I'm not being patient enought. This is for life & it's so easy to want to be instantly skinnny but you have to let the band do it's job WHICH it will when it's adjusted correctly! Yours ~ inteh same boat BUT not for long! 4. Hello SD Chick. I'm sorry to hear that you aren't loosing and you have had a fill because I'm so looking forward to start loosing after my 1st fill. I've only lost 10 lbs B/4 the surgery & thats it so far total!!! My doctor told me that was normal at my post op & after the surgery I was really swelled but about 2 weeks ago I was able to eat anything in large amts. again!! Did your doctor say that after your fill you could only eat 4 ozs at a time & start with Protein plus no liquids for at least 1/2 hour B/4 eating and at least an hour after eating? Or do you think that you need a tighter restriction on your band to keep the food in the pouch longer? What does your doctor say? My doctor said at his seminar that after the surgery the band was just in place & it wasn't until the fill that there was actually any restriction which makes sense & I can remember right after the surgery my stomach was really swelled so liquids were about all I could get down. And he also said that after a fill when you stop loosing then they fill again so - how soon is it that you can go back between fills? Thanks for any info. LAwbing3!!

Why can't I do this alone???

Mary Rose, I have a question for you- I'm about to have my 1st fill & am worried now since my stomach is healed that I can eat anything right now & I assume that after my fill I'll start losing BIG. Did you have that happen that after your first fill? Steph
  6. Hi SD Chick~ I was banded August 24 & only lost 10 lbs before my surgery-but was only on the liquid diet a week in a half B/4 surgery & now I can eat anything again. I figure that my stomach isn't swelled anymore from the surgery & after a liquid diet everything is tasting great so I'm looking forward to my 1st fiill Oct 5 when I've been told that I will only be able to eat 4 ozs at a time-which was how it was directly after my surgery. After reading posts on this website -I'm wondering why I'm not loosing faster but the doctor says that the fill is when I'll start with the big losses so I'm keeping that in mind & figure that everyone has a different story to tell. I'm surprised that you are loosing without a fill though, but think your stomach must have stayed swelled from the surgery longer than mine. My doctor explained in his seminar that the surgery just puts the band on & the fill is when the pouch is squeezed up over your stomach. Steph
  7. Hey lachica 39- I was banded the end of August & will have my 1st fill the day you have your surgery & my friends said the same to me about having the B-pass instead but I don't want the worry of something irrversable as well as dumping on myself while I'm giving an important work presentation.. I haven't lost much weight yet but that will all begin after my fill in Oct. & I hoep to lose 50lbs by Dec. and then 70 by March so I'll keep you posted on how I do. I do exercise a lot though. There is another website where I've been getting great support from people -better than here so I'll give you it now Info on the Lap Band weight loss surgery - Weight Loss Alternatives<br /> Good luck to you & you made the right decision Steph!

Why can't I do this alone???

If I was you I'd tell the doctor/nurses that you have no one to bring for the doctor's visit. I didn't have anyone come with me until I had the surgery & then they just drove me home. It's your business & the medical provider should respect that or I'd change lap-band doctors. Steph
