  1. Muskegon here. Cant wait to enjoy the lake this summer. Although i have alot more hanging out now. Lol
  2. You're early in ur journey so calories shouldnt be an issue anyway. You should just be working toward your grams and water daily. Just dont onpy us powder to get it. Need to integrate food and supliment ur intake with protein shakes. Good luck
  3. You must be referring to powder protein but u need nutrition too. Your body cant survive on 240 calories. I do powder protein as well as protein bars but i also eat chicken and turkey and now salad. There are many healthy ways to get in 60 without just powder protein. You should be on soft foods. Need to eat 4 times a day. Try 15g per meal and if u need to count do about 200 per meal. It gets easier to eat but u need to eat.

Totally agree. How could she eat all that? And why would he enable it. He probably liked having her depend on him. My kids are awesome like ur husband. My daughter is my workout monitor to make sure i go everyday amd my son is my food monitor. When i say i want something his reply is "u can have it but is it a good choice?!" Love my kids. She just needed some support staff and for someone to call her out!! Thats just sad.

  6. I would think so! That is way too low on calories. How are u getting in 60g of protein? U are still so new that calories shouldnt be an issue. Getting in healthy protein and drinkong ur minimum of 64 oz of wayer should be your goal. If u insist on counting calories you shouldnt be below 600. U will stall if ur not getting enough protein or water. And you must exercise for best rssults. I am almost 5 months post and down 89lbs so it works. Good luck to you.
  7. Your stomach is much smaller now and if you are really eating healthy and that early post op 800-1000 cal are good enough. Watch ur fat and sugar intake too. If you are stalling watch ur protein intake and fat and sugar more than calorie. U should be getting 60+ healthy grams a day and definitely make sure you are getting at least 4 bottles of water or 64 oz a day. Those 2 things are most important. I didnt count calories for my first 4 months. Just make sure it is good and healthy grams. I am almost 5 months post and down 89lbs so it works. Also make sure u r exercising well, not just getting by or not doing anything. Gotta push yourself and do just what they tell u and it will happen.
  8. Where abouts r u from. I live in west michigan on the lake.

  13. I grew up in a family that struggled with weight. I was always very active as a teen and contolled my weight well. I got married at 20 and had my first child at 21 and was in an abusive marriage. My weight ballooned throughout the years. I was up and down. 2 kids later and a life changing accident and a divorce in '94 and remarried into '99. 2 more kids later and a separation happening decided to go to a Bariatric seminar with the help of my counselor. I considered it years ago but got nervous. In 2012 i was 378lbs and climbing so i started yet another diet. By 2013 i had managed to lose about 40lbs but was so depressed. I started counseling and she encouraged me to at least check it out so i did. Within 2 months i was having surgery. I had to quit smoking and said goodbye to my old life in that time. I put on about 15 quiting smoking but it was worth it. On Dec 6, 2013 i started my pre-op protein diet. I lost 23lbs in those 2 wks. I stuck to the program, never cheated and drank about a gallon of water a day. A far cry from 5000 cal a day and 2 2 liters of pop and half a pack or better of cigs a day. My surgery date was Dec 18, 2013. I left the hospital the next day and spent a couple days at my parents and then 4 days post op i went to IL to my in laws to recouperate. I was almost instantly drinking 80+ grams of protein and about 3 bottles of water. I am the exception to the rule i think. I healed real fast. I did my daily walking and with in my first 2 wks i felt about normal again. At my 3 wk appt they told me i could start some light exercise like walking and light weights so i did. I hit the gym but did so with caution. At my 6 wk appt i was down to 304. It was amazing. I felt great and was eating at least my 60g a day. There are days when i just dont feel like eating but always make sure i get in my minimal grams and water. It happens every so often. I do not cheat and watch my sugar and fat intake closely as well. I consider this a gift and therefore take good care of it. It has been difficult at times. I have hit a couple plateaus and theres days when i just dont want to go to the gym but i stick it out and remember tue end to the means. I have 4 kids. 2 in their 20's and 2 more still at home. None of them have ever seen me at a healthy weight so i am so excited for them too. Since I have been losing weight i have taken the kids ice skating, roller skating, and bike riding without my tires going flat mid ride. I know go to the gym 5 days a week and get help from a trainer when i start plateauing so i can move it along. I try to fit in 80-100g of protein and drink a minimum of 6 bottles of water a day sticking around 900-1000 cal. Its a work in progress but i am so excited. It also helps that i have a great support group surrounding me. Im just excited more for my kids than myself. They will get to enjoy me, or put up with me(lol), for many more years to come. A healthy weight and active lifestyle are my big goals.
