  1. Am one month out and when I eat solids ( no matter if it is ground, purred or chewed well) I always get heartburn. Anyone else have that issue and PLEASE tell me it will go away.
  2. I am one month out tomorrow and this past week I haven't lost a pound. Overall I lost 34, so perhaps my body is going thru an adjustment period.
  3. No protein bars yet, but I will keep this in mind, thanks!!!
  4. Great idea!!! I've never made them, have you? Have instructions on how to make them?
  5. Has anyone tried "puff corn" or bagged pork rinds for a snack? Did your sleeve reject it?
  6. I couldn't agree with you more. I did it for the same reasons and I too think it is going to be the preferred option.
  7. Mine loss is also slowing down, but I think it is your body's way of adjusting and agree with someone else that you may still be losing inches instead of pounds at this time. I am trying to stay encouraged not discouraged. I am 3 and 1/2 weeks out and down 34#.
  8. At nearly one month out, don't think I could have those.
  9. yeah too early. But I LOVE those flavored almonds. I can't wait until I can have those again.
  10. My Dr. Said the Prilosec should not be causing that. I've been on it for years and never had this issue.
  11. I've made those prior to surgery.... Not a huge fan.
  12. I am on solids this week. Week one and two were only fluids and week three was puréed protein, right now I am at protein in its original state, just chewed well.
  13. Saw my primary Dr. who works in internal medicine and she said the bad taste in the mouth is from the chewable multivitamin.
  14. Am on my week four of post op, curious as to if pork rinds ( the kind from Old Dutch in the snack food section) are acceptable. No carbs and 7g of protein per serving ( high in sodium). Anyone else snack on them?
  15. We are told to wait a half hour and ABSOLUTELY no gum!!! If accidentally swallowed it needs to be surgically removed. I take a sip after eating, just to rinse my mouth.
  16. Yikes! 1/2 cup at two weeks out????? I am three weeks out and can't even get the required 1/4 cup. We are forbidden from using a straw ( too much air) we are not allowed any starch / veggie ( no potato until 6 months out). I am 3 weeks out and down 36 pounds. My biggest challenge is water/fluid intake.
  17. Not really a metallic taste, but I understand what you are saying and it makes sense. Things don't even taste good... Used to love crystal light fruit punch, not now. Used to love eggs.... All tastes weird.
  18. I am 3 weeks out and I have horrible breath and continuously have a horrible taste in my mouth. Anyone else experience this? Even after brushing my teeth it appears about an hour later.
  19. You are giving me hope. I am 2 weeks post op and down 30 pounds, but I have started heavier so I have more weight to lose. Love this forum.
  20. Congrats! Is that to say you are a year out? What was your starting weight, may I ask?
  21. I have found that if I take about 10 to 15 minutes per ounce it tends to go down smoother. I am on week 3 starting today. I put the spoon down with each bite. And with some fluids like regular water, I still need to take tiny sips. You body is adjusting and trying to send messages that you are hungry, but it really is mind over matter.
  22. Good to know. I know it will be worth it in the end. Thanks for your input. Now if we could start a recipe page for weeks two and beyond.
  23. Hi. I am 11 days post op and the only thing I can have ( much less tolerate) are clear fluids and cottage cheese. I don't go on purred foods until next week which would be week two. I get heartburn with anything more food like than cottage cheese. BTW, not a nurse but worked in health care for more than 20 years.
  24. However if you take any thyroid meds that and the Prilosec need to be taken an hour apart from each other. I take my Prilosec at night.
