  4. Hi! I'm new here. My surgery date was 6/30, but they called last week to ask if I minded if we went with 6/23 instead. I'm so excited. Today is the first day of my liquid diet-- I was on vacation when they moved me up, so they said just to start the minute I came back.
  5. Sure thing! Today is the first day of my liquid diet because they moved my surgery date up while I was on vacation and said just to wait until I got back to start. I'm also still waiting on my shakes to be delivered because I didn't think I'd need them 'til the 16th, lol.
  6. I am scheduled for June 23, as well. Pre-op is June 18th.
  7. I gained a little weight during my 6 month diet b/c I stopped nursing and I really underestimated how many calories that burned. I was still approved. However, you cannot gain wait on your liquid pre-op diet. They will cancel your surgery for that.
  8. I second the seared tuna-- it's the best thing on the menu.
  9. Hi! I'm newish to the forums-- I've just been approved by UHC for RNY. I am so excited and nervous and I have no idea what it's going to be like to not be fat. I've never not been fat. I'm an identical twin, and my sister had the surgery in October of 2012. She's gone from 365lbs to 145lbs. I'm so incredibly proud of her, but it's been really eye opening to see how people treat her differently now that she's thin. I don't think the surgeon's office knows I've been approved-- I just called to check in and they had just put it in the computer. I have to wait until Monday to get a pre-op apppointment and all of that stuff.
  10. Tomorrow is the last of my 6 pcp visits, and I'm really worried. My visits aren't consecutive-- which, my bariatric resource nurse says is fine, they can be non-consecutive and go back up to two years. I have six visits over the past 12 months, and I haven't lost any weight. In fact, I've gained weight from my first appointment 12 months ago. I gained 20lbs between May of 2013 and August of 2013, then kept my weight steady for the remainder of the visits. If you were me, would you go ahead and submit everything, or keep trying until you've lost weight?
