  1. I had my surgery done by Dr. Aceves in Mexicali on November 17. So far I have lost 33 lbs and lots of inches! My pants keep falling off and my shirts finally fit nice and loose! Oh back to your question... I am partial to Dr. A of course, but I would recommend him to anyone. The hospital is very clean and Dr. A and his staff are awesome people. I just got back from my first fill from Dr. A, well his assistant Dr. Campos and it was sooo easy. So if you have any questions, feel free to ask.
  2. Don't worry.. I had the same thought. It was over in no time and I was wide awake! Looking back I know it's all a mind game and I shouldn't have stressed over it, but I did. Now time to move on and lose some weight!! Do let me know if you have any questions. I am going down this weekend for a fill. I will let you know how that goes! Steven
  3. I went to Dr. Aceves in November and do not have a complaint!! Him and his staff are all professionals and the hospital is sooooo clean! I would definitely recommend him to anyone. I am going back this weekend to get my first fill. Fills are free for life, only cost is for the hospital's fluoroscope ($75.00). If you have ANY questions, please feel free to ask me or search for WASABUBBLEBUTT, she has lots of information and posts on here. Plus she wrote a wonderful sticky on how to research Mexican Doctors. Again let me know if you or your husband have any questions!! Steven
  4. I also went to Dr. Aceves in Mexicali. Very professional and a very clean hospital!!! Notice I said hospital!! Not an office, but the real thing!! Everyone there was very nice and accommodating. I am going back this weekend for my first fill. Fills are free for life except for $75.00 to the hospital for the fluoroscope. Have an AZ Dr. beat that price! Good luck on your surgery and I am sure you will be as happy with the surgeon you choose.
  5. My surgery was on 11/17/07 with Dr. A and I have had no problems since. I have lost 33 lbs and lots of inches!! The hospital is sooo clean and everyone there is wonderful. I am going in for a fill sometime this month. If you have any questions please ask!
  6. I am looking into Dr. Aceves in Mexicali. Would be even closer for you than Tijuana! Everyone I have talked to praise him, his staff and the hospital.
  7. Thanks for your responses... Not exactly what I was wanting to hear.. lol So I guess I will just self pay and move on. Not dwell on what "might" happen. I would love to talk to you about your Mexico banding, can you send me a private message. Thanks so much!
  8. Thanks for responding!! So can I pay the extra premium?? My HR department will not give me straight answers. OR can I purchase supplimental insurance to cover it? I am just so afraid that if I self pay and then have complications that my current (employer paid) insurance won't cover the complications.
  9. I have Cigna insurance in Arizona and they say that WLS is excluded in our policy. Has anyone fought them and won? Would it be worth hiring a lawyer? Please someone help me!! Steven :help:
  10. So does everyone like Dr Schwartz? He seemed rushed when I went to his seminar, so I wasn't sure if he was that way at his office. Thanks!
