  1. I'm starting to have a BIG problem. I had my gallbladder taken out about 6 weeks ago and every since then my whole appetite has changed for the worse. Slowly my weight has started to increase, I gained 5 lbs in the past few weeks. I can eat twice the portion of food and I'm hungry 1 hour after my meals and in between my meals. I was never like that before I had my gallbladder taken out. Before I would eat 3 meals a day and not be hungry and it would be losing 2 lbs a week. Now i'm gaining like 1/2 lbs a day. Honestly, lately for the past two weeks, I've been struggle with eatting hungry and not drinking liquids as I was before. I'm just hungry all the time and not thristy. I haven't really been making the right food choice lately either. I did join a gym 2 weeks ago and I go 2-3 times a week. Does anyone know someone who has Lap Band and had their gallbladder taken out? did they go through this side effect like I am. I can't get another fill because my insurance won't pay for them anymore. I'm 11 months out from having my surgery (surgery date 10/23/07) and I've had 5 fills so far. I'm a 8.5 cc out of 10 cc. The restriction is not there anymore.
  2. I had to sleep in my recliner for about 2 weeks. After that I was able to lay down without having the pain in my lower back but getting up off the time was hard and I need a boost. Slowly after that I was about to sleep on my side with a little discomfort because it didn't feel right. I would say from 5-6 weeks out you should feel yourself and back to your normal routine. I remember telling myself am I ever going to be able to sleep normally and I had such a fear. But trust me, it does go away within a couple of week, just hang in there and sleep on a recliner if you have one or sit up on the sofa. Use lots of pillow and don't forget the pain med if the doc sent them for you.
  3. I would say eat chocolate and soda all day if possible.
  4. i've had my bad for 10 months so far and I got my 5th fill last week. I have now 8.5 cc out of 10 cc. The wierd part about my situation is that my 3rd fill, I was at 8.5 and way too tight b/c I would vomit all my foods and liquid. So my 4th fill I went down to 7.5 cc. Now I'm back up to 8.5 cc and I'm okay. Prior to getting my fill a week ago, I had my gallbladder taken out almost a month ago. I noticed since that surgery I am so much hunger and I can eat twice as much now. So I'm still waiting to find my sweet spot.
  5. I had my gallbladder taken out 3 weeks ago because I was having severe pains. I ended up having 4 attacks and had to go to the ER each time. That's how bad it was because I can tolerate pain but this was worse than going thru pregnancy contractions. Like someone said before, the greasy food is what sets it off. Mine was hamburgers that did it. I didn't have any problems prior to getting the lapband. I ended up getting gallstones because of my weight loss which I read is common. The problem that I'm having now is that I just had my 5th fill a week ago and every since my gallbladder surgery, I noticed that I'm way much hunger and I can get twice as much than before my surgery. Has that happened to anybody? I also started gaining weight so now I'm trying to hold back on my hunger b/c I get hungry every 2 1/2 hours all day.
  6. I'm having the same problem too. I just had my 5th fill and I'm at 8.5 cc and with this fill I'm eatting twice as more and hunger than I was before. I think in my situation it's because i just had my gallbladder taken out almost a month ago.
  7. My doctor has his patints go in every 6 weeks. My band goes up to 10 cc. Right now I'm at 7.5 cc and I've had 2 fills. So in my next fill he'll give me only .5 cc and then I should be at my sweet spot soon which is somewhere around 7 to 8.5 cc. It depends on the person of course.
  8. I take Centrum chewables once a day and it has 18 mg of Iron.
  9. My port is right above my belly button about 1 in up in the middle .
  10. Hello everyone! I have been trying to get the gastric bypass for the past 5 years and recently I deceided to try again but for the lapband. Finally, I have a surgery date of October 16, 2007. In the past, I have gotten denied twice and approved twice for the surgery. The 1st approval went thru but the day right before my surgery, I had gotten a phone call from the nurse sayign that she had to cancel my surgery b/c my insurance wasn't going to pay for it after they had approved it. needless to say I was extremley devasted. the 2nd time I had gotten approved I couldn't get the surgery b/c I had just found out that I was pregnant. so 9 months later, I decided to try again, (a final time but with a whole different doctor) to get the surgery. so here I am. Wish me luck. The nurse will send all my paperwork to my insurance next week for approval!!!!
