Have you had your first fill?

I had my first fill of 1 cc on 10-22. I have a small amount of restriction which I have really noticed if I eat bread/meat to quickly or don't chew well enough. I am not feeling hungry in between meals and am definitely not eating the large quantities I was before. Everyone gets the feeling of restriction at different levels and it may take a few fills for you to get it right. he most important thing you can do is to eat your Protein first, drink lots of Water and get your 4-5 days of exercise per week. You have to be patient with this surgery....remember this is not a quick fix like gastric bypass is. YOU CAN DO IT!!! :whoo:

Hiya Audry!! I live on the other side of the Water in Kitsap County. I just got banded last week. Welcome to the forums and good luck in your journey!! :gluck:
  7. At the time I decided to go ahead with Banding I was already borderline diabetic at the age of 32. I take 3 (yes that's right 3) blood pressure pills a day. I was heading down a path that would eventually lead me to an early death by either stroke or complications from the diabetes. This was NOT ok with me. I wanted to be around for my kids, grandkids and great-grandkids! I have a 6 year old son that I would do ANYTHING for and one day my own mother looked at me and said then why don't you LIVE FOR HIM. This was a real turning point for me because what she said was so true. If I loved him that much then why wouldn't I do anything possible to be here and healthy for him? She also said that the way I feel about my own son was how she and my dad felt about me and they were truly concerned about my health. This is definitely a very personal decision for everyone but for me my son is more important than ANY addiction could ever be. It is very important to recognize that over-eating is an addiction and most people that suffer from any type of addiction suffer from either depression or obsessive-compulsive disorder. You should be seen by a psychologist for an evaluation to make sure you do not have an underlying mental health issue that could sabotage your success. I am not ashamed to admit I suffer from both depression and OCD and since starting on medication I have kept my impulses in check. You might be amazed what you discover after talking with someone. I wish you only the best in your journey and hope you discover what will work best for you. Look at those beautiful children of yours and ask yourself if you would do it for them?
  8. Hey all. My name is Amber. I am 32 years old and just had my Lap Band Surgery this week on 9-11. I am doing well so far....I would have to say my main complaint so far has been the gas pain in my left side since the surgery. I am so happy to have found a Lap Band forum for support!!
  9. Hiya coastlgrl and bruce!! Barbara....I will be getting my first fill 6 weeks post-op at my surgeons office in Redmond (Group Health Clinic.) Have fun at the BBQ and ask lots of questions!!
  10. My surgeon told me that as long as I wasn't on any pain meds and felt I was alert and quick enough to respond as usual then I could drive when I felt ready to. I had surgery on 9-11 and drove on 9-14. Good luck with your upcoming surgery!!
  11. Absolutely!!! It's great to see another Washingtonian!!
