  1. Thank you for the insight. My mom has had her band for 5 years and has a lot of problems with throwing up. She has not reached her goal weight and is wanting to get another fill. I'm a bit worried about another fill at this point because I think her band may have slipped. She gets sick multiple times a week. Do you think I'm this could be true? She has had her band much longer than I have and I don't want to scare her. I realize your problem was different, but being a "seasoned bandster", I feel that you would have some good advice for me.
  2. You look wonderful and know you must feel that much better. How many fills and how long did it take for you to feel like you were in the green zone?
  3. It has seemed like a long time since my first fill. I am being careful of what I eat, but can get way to much down. Still eating significantly less, but want to get to that next level. I know, I know.... Patience grasshopper......
  4. Hi Kim! I was filled with 3cc's at the time of my surgery. My first fill was only 1cc. I am slowly but surely coming around to how and what my body can handle. I am trying to stay focused on what my body needs instead of what it wants. There is definetly a lot more to having the band than I could have imagined even after being told. I guess experience IS the best teacher That is awesome that you've made it back into the one hundreds!!! I am so ready for that as well. Well, good night and good luck to you.
  5. Wendy, Thank you for the insight. I was ready to jump the gun, but to my surprise, I am down 1 lb!!! Yeaaa! Since I had the fill, I have been able to eat anything. I am too scared to try bread simply because I know its my weakness. Come on will power!!!
  6. Thank you. I am going to call in the morning to see what my doctors protocol is. ( Hoping they say sooner rather than later
  7. That is absolutely wonderful and is truly an inspiration. I hope you have continued success!
  8. I had my first fill this past Friday. I feel like I can eat way more than I could before my fill and am very hungry in the evenings. Thankfully, I haven't gained any weight back, but I am ready to get the next ten pounds off. I realize that each doctor has their own rules on how often you should get a fill, but has anyone had another fill as early as a week later?
  9. Find whatever works best for you to ease the pain. Everyone gave a lot of good suggestions. Once you find what works, use it and keep your goal as your main focus. Just think to yourself (in the tone of "nanana-booboo") I'm gonna be skinnnnyyyy...
  10. I totally empathize with you! I agree with the other posts. the heating pad works greatly. Just remember to use one that turns on and off every 10 minutes or so to avoid any other kind of damage. Also, I felt it helped to not curl up. Try to stretch out when you are sitting or lying down. Day 6 was about when I started feeling a lot of relief and others as well, from what I've read. Good luck to you and it does get better!
  11. Thank you Mikee57! It looks like your band is working greatly for you! I am hopeful that this fill will give me the little boost I need to loose some more weight! My husband and I are getting back to our workout regimen, so I pray that helps even more so. i am thankful for the little bit I've already lost. I already feel a slight confidence boost. Well, here it goes. Cheers to us and a smaller waist line! Lets get it
  12. I have lost my initial 27 lbs and have stayed there for 2 weeks. What questions should I ask? Is there anything you guys didn't expect that happened? Any input is appreciated. Thanks y'all!
  13. I am scheduled for my first fill next week. I was banded 2 1/2 weeks ago and started soft foods like fish, yams etc. I have found yesterday and today that I am able to eat a lot more than I want to. I had pan seared scallops and spinach with wild mushrooms. I had about 1/2 a cup of veggies and 6-7 medium sized scallops then wanted something sweet. Come on fill appt! I have been doing to well to go back now!!!
  14. That is so awesome to see you both working together on a mutual goal!! Stay encouraged and be blessed! Congrats to you both!
  15. I bet you are on cloud 9 right now!! Congrats and thanks for sharing and giving all of us something to look forward to!!
  16. That is amazing! Keep up the good work and stay encouraged.
  17. I am still on puréed foods right now, but decided to have a beautiful velvety poached egg. Chewed and chewed to a puréed consistency swallowed in small bites. I want to avoid EVER getting another one of those wonderful things! Any pearls?
  18. Empathy vibes coming your way!!! I experienced the same thing last week and everything everyone has already told you is very true. Hang in there and just know that it will all be worth it!!!! Good luck
  19. Thank you all for your kind words and support. Your input has really helped. Last night was a magnesium citrate kind of a night, but tonight is looking better already. Thanks again and goodnight.
  20. Hello fellow night owls. A little snippet of my story.... Over weight my whole life, entire family is over weight, mother and brother in law are banded. Husband is in great shape. I have done years of research and finally made it happen!! Very excited about my journey, but am in so much pain and discomfort, it actually had me weeping! Having given birth to 4 beautiful and healthy children, it takes a lot to make me cry. I am very aware that you get referred pain from the stomach/ diaphragm area due to either or hernia repair, gas, or just pressure from being swollen. I feel like my shoulder has been dislocated and someone keeps trying to reset it!! For the love of all thats good, someone please tell me this ends soon..... I am prepared for hurdles, but pain meds (which I am no fan of) aren't even touching it probably because it is pressure. Has anyone else experienced this? Please let me know your experiences. Regards, MrsPJ
