  1. Lots of water!!!! I also took colace twice a week to help move things along. Honestly constipation was the only issue I have had since surgery. At about 3 months that leveled out also. I don't go as much as I use to because I eat about 1/100 of what I was eating. But I do go regularly now.
  2. Thanks. I don't feel like the same person. I didn't realize how bad I felt but I was in a visous cycle of eating bad and no exercise. I really went back and forth about having the surgery but am SOOOOOO glad I did! I'm off all blood pressure, arthritis and thyroid medicine and feel great!
  3. Very excited that I have reached the 100 lb. mark. Still would like to loose about 40 more lbs. But am super happy with the decision to have this surgery. I am 7 months out and feel soooooo good!!! The only problem I have is having to buy clothes which now that I am not wearing plus size clothes isn't so bad.
  4. I'm in the 7th month since surgery. Just find I end up cooking like 5 things. Getting a little bored. Turkey Meatballs Broccoli chicken cauliflower casserole Turkey stuffed bell peppers Chili Crust less quiche
  5. Share your favorite post - surgery high Protein recipe.......
  6. I completly understand. I went to Old Navy to buy some winter shirts and automatically went to the XL ones and ended up realizing the Larges were too big that I needed a Medium!! Woo hoo!!
  7. I didn't realize just how much I had lost in my face and neck until I put the pictures next to each other. Feels great to see the progress.
  8. Do you see the new skinnier you? I go shopping and pick up a shirt and think "oh that looks too small" then I try it on and its big. How long did it take for your brain to catch up with your body? LOL
  9. I am glad I was told that the gas would be painful after surgery and to try to walk to release it. I think that having that knowledge is the only thing that saved me. The nurses sure didn't encourage me to walk. But the gas was so painful in my back and shoulders that walking finally got me to burping. So WALK WALK!! Wish I wouldn't of bought so much Jello and pudding! lol after surgery it was too sweet and I couldn't stand it. I had a easy recovery but don't be suprised at about 2 weeks out you freak because you aren't getting in enough fluids and it feels like a job to get them in. Try to stay off of work for 3 weeks if possible. I went back 10 days after surgery and felt great but was real overwelmed with doing my job and getting fluids in every hour!
  10. My doctor took me off thyroid medicine for surgery in April. I have had my thyroid levels check 3 times since surgery and they have stayed in the good range. I'm happy to not have to take the medicine at this point. My doctor says we will just continue to monitor and see......
  11. April 25th!!! So glad I did this for myself. Down 71 lbs and feeling great. Exercise at the gym 3-4 days a week and ride my horse on the days I don't go to the gym. I average between 70-90 grams of Protein a day. I still drink a shake split in half a day. I drink half in the morning and half before I work out. I try to limit carbs to those in vegetables or fruit. Haven't tried bread or Pasta since surgery and don't plan to as they are trigger foods for me. I use a lot of the bariatric foodie recipes!
  12. Went to the doctor today for 4 month check up and was told to stop drinking protein shakes. Now I'm freaking out some. Can anyone give me a typical food day that gets 60+ grams of protein and 800 calories.
  13. I was so thrilled 2 weeks ago when I got on my horse and fit in my saddle! Not sure what I will do when I shrink out of it!
  14. I stalled from Week 3 -6 and have lost about 11 lbs since my stall. I am 9 weeks from surgery today. I have decided to not let the scale concern me so much as today I am wearing a pair of size 20 jeans when I was in a tight 24 prior to surgery! Measure inches and you will be amazed how many you loose with the scale not moving!
  15. I too have suffered from migraines for years. Since surgery 8 weeks ago I haven't had one headache. I think eliminating gluten from my diet has helped the headaches. Oh and I have been on Mobic for 2 years due to arthritis in my feet. Dr told me I could take after 6 weeks on a as needed basis. But even with working out 5 days a week I have not needed to take any. I did some research and found that gluten also inflames joints which might be why my arthritis is better.

  17. I heard was told today by a lady I work with that she wasn't going to "cheat" and have WLS like so and so. This is why I have told no one at work! I was like yea this is cheating. How many times have you done 3 weeks of liquid diet! Do that then get back to me and tell me I'm cheating!
  18. Went for my 8 week appt today. Dr was happy with my loss. Lol me not so much. As he told me Rome was not built in a day! You are doing great! Didn't get released to do any resistance training until I can get my calories above 800 a day without adding any carbs! How does everyone get 800 calories a day and keep the carbs at a minimum? Oh and he said max of 100 grams of Protein a day.
  19. I was 280 my day of surgery and 289 when started the 1 week pre op liquid diet. Today is 7 weeks and I weigh 254. And have lost close to 30 inches. I am very happy with my results so far and just wish I would of had this surgery years ago.
  20. It is a awesome feeling. I can't remember a time in my life that I didn't think I was hungry!
  21. I'm 6 weeks out from surgery and I read on here about people getting hungry etc. I never feel any hunger pains. I think its great. Just curious if this will go away or am I one of the lucky ones that will continue to not get hungry??
  22. What does slider food mean?
  23. I went back to work yesterday after 12 days off. I have a pretty hectic job. I was wore out last night but am glad I did come back so I could get into a routine with eating etc. I probably could of came back after 7 days but would of had a hard time getting my fluids in.
