  1. So sorry for your loss! But I do agree with "auntie Rose" you now have yourself and amazing guardian angel who will be with you every step of the way! Praying for comfort to you and your family during this difficult time.
  2. Sorry to all of you who are going through this, but thankful that I am not alone here. Surgery 5/28 and haven't lost anything for about 10 days. This is miserable!!
  3. Congratulations to you! Thanks for sharing your story, you have a gift with words!
  4. Is anyone using colace? Is it okay to take the little gel caps? I am 2 weeks out and looking for help in this area.
  5. That is amazing! You look incredible! Good for you!
  6. Funny how similar we are, I too live in AZ, have wore my hair in an "updo" for years and HATE being sweaty! I am only nearing a 20# loss and have been walking in the mall for the AC and have noticed that too I'm not nearly as nasty sweaty as I used to be! Love it!!
  7. I would love to hear more of your story! Congratulations on this huge accomplishment! You look fantastic!
  8. My surgery was just moved up to 8 am tomorrow from 1:30. So excited!!
  9. I am scheduled for the 28th! My liquid diet consists of 3 protein shakes with clear liquids only for two weeks, headed into my second week and have to admit it's not the worst thing ever! Sure I get hungry and want to eat, but I think knowing I get the surgery in 1 week makes this doable! So excited! Think it's awesome to be able to meet up with others on here who are going through the exact stuff I am! Best of luck to all of you!
  10. Thank you all for your caring responses and helpful suggestions!! Little bit of a bummer today, found out surgery postponed till 28th, some scheduling issue. But, no biggie I guess, just get to do liquids for 6 extra days ????
  11. DLCloggin please send me your list Ktucker1979@yahoo.co
  12. Just got my surgery date for May 22nd. I am absolutely thrilled!!! Problem is, my husband is less than supportive. Started this process last Sept, he did attend my initial surgery consult where surgeon told him how I would have to adhere to their program and make some life changes in order to be approved for surgery. This made my husband feel better as he apparently over the 13 years we've been together has not seen me "try hard enough" to lose the weight. I am not sure exactly what he expected to see by this point, but he says I have not changed anything. I disagree, although I have not lost any weight, I have gained an excellent understanding and preparation for what is to come with the surgery. I have been meeting with a counselor every other week and helped build some self confidence, parenting skills and coping mechanisms. I do admit I could have done more, made healthier food choices, exercised more, etc, but if I was good at those things I never would have been in this position to begin with. My issue is not that there is a lack of knowledge for the correct way to lose weight, I am sure so many of us could teach courses on nutrition, I am ready for this "tool" to assist me in my new healthy lifestyle. I am so disappointed that the one person who I count on to be my "cheerleader" in all aspects seems to have no interest at all in my journey. Fortunately I do have excellent support in nearly everyone else in my life! My parents, my brother and many friends! I am blessed with all of their love and support!! My mom will be able to be with me during my hospital stay and help with my crazy kiddos in my post-op days. My husband will be working..... I feel that I have just been such a disappointment and failure to him for so long, he no longer has hope for me!
  13. I guess it's good to hear I'm not alone, but crappy for all in this boat! Congrats Jodie on your approval!! Keep us updated!
  14. Hello everyone! What a wonderful site! My name is Kristi and I am currently in the spiral of waiting for the office to submit to insurance. I started this journey last September. I had to do 6 months of medically supervised weight loss, multiple doctor visits, psych eval, councelling, labs, EGD, xray, EKG, etc. In addition to surgical clearance from PCP and GI doc. All of these steps were completed nearly 6 weeks ago and Surgery office has had all my records for the last 4 weeks. I have called, emailed multiple times with no response until last week when I was told to "be a little more patient", that my file was in a pile of 30 charts waiting to be reviewed by office staff prior to submitting to insurance. This is VERY frustrating to me! I am not sure at this point whether or not I created the timeline in my own head of having a surgery date by end of March beginning of April, but with all that I can do from my side besides wait I feel very helpless. Has anyone else had to wait so long just for the office to submit your file to insurance? Patience has never been a strong suit for me. I guess I would just love your encouraging words at this point. Thanks!
