I am 3 days post-op and I agree Protein Shakes are glorious, Ginger Snaps. They had me try to move to the thicker liquids like cream Soup, pudding and yogurt. Those hurt a lot. Sat there for an hour after each one in pain after only getting an ounce down. Be grateful they are progressing you slowly. It will make the next stage that much better. (All in my head but wow, broth never tasted that good before.) I am going to take my time and enjoy my broth and shakes for now.
Well, this day 4, I was an emotional rollercoaster last night. I do really well in the morning and fade as the day goes on. By evening, I'm hungry, grumpy and tired. Hoping this will pass as I get used to things. Fortunately those around me have been very forgiving. Trying to even out my Protein intake through the day and not 6 hours apart, hope that will help.
Hi Bypass Buddy I am still trying to wrap my head around this. I am scheduled for the 10th but a recent change to the RNY has left me scrambling for info. Was the RNY your first choice?
I am scheduled for June 10th as well. Started the Pre-Op diet yesterday. I was originally was supposed to get the sleeve, but my EGD said no. This new adventure has me a bit nervous as I did most of my research on the other procedure, but I'm excited it's so close.
I was just told today (EGD was Tuesday and Pre-Op was yesterday) that my surgeon will not do the sleeve and doesn't recommend the band due to GERD and Barrett's. So now it's the RNY for me.
