It has been awhile
Hello all, I think we forget that when lossing weight we also build muscle. That muscle weighs more and that building muscle is not a bad thing either. SuzanneG, that is so great to hear about the weight you have lost! Keep up the good work and good things will happen! Sometimes when I get stuck I just watch more of what I eat and when I eat it. Walk a little more or change up my exercise program. I have made a call to go in for another fill in September. I have about 30 lbs to lose. I will be looking into the PS to remove the pann and a breast reduction in Jan. When I called, I also had Cindy share the percentage of my weight loss with me, which was 33%. So after a year and a half, I feel I am doing great! I for one am not in a rush and am not trying to compare myself self with what others are doing or have done. Since we all lose in different ways and means. Our bodies after all are all different. I like to take my time for the weight lost to give my body time to adjust and for my brain to retrain it self. This I believe gives me the longer lasting change I need for my life time. This weight loss and eating right, to me, is a process and retraining of what I "thought" was right. You all take care, be well, do right! ~Whirlwinds~

Realize band...first fill...how much...
Do you go to the realized band website? I have the same band and I read there alot, they give you info for their band. Dr. schram did mine and I got for the first fill was 2cc I have had 4 fills thus far for a total of 6.5cc's which he says is the spot for most. I can tell you that I felt the restriction by the 3rd fill. I would go the the website for more info if you need.

What made you choose Lapband?
Hello, I made this decision for me as I wanted to lose my weight slowly. I wanted the control over my food intake too.I also believe that for me it is discipline that is key. I have lost 30 lbs since I began my journey with the band since October 2007 (223 START weight), Banded January 23, 2008(206 surgery weight) and as of April 24 (193 current weight). I also have joined a gym and exercise 3 days a week. I read and researched this for over 3 years before making the Life Changing decision. After all, (for me) I allow the band to work as a tool only and use my mind as the key. I am not in a race to lose this weight as it took over 20 years for me to gain it,lose it and re-gain it. I feel that as the weight is coming off so does the old thinking and then new thinking has to take place. Some of the re-directed thinking needs time for it to sink in and learning to apply the new ways of eating for my life. I am finding in my journey that I was comfortable with the weight on my body, unhealthy as this sounds, it was a protection from others, I didn't want to deal with in my life. Now, I am learning that it is me I need to learn to deal with and allow the inner strength to shine through! Take it slow, research, find facts and then apply what you learn, for YOU because it is YOU that will make YOU happy in the end. Smile and Shine on ~WhirlWinds~

January Surgery Dates
I am 6 days out and doing great! I walked my first full mile today....I am getting all my protein and water down. I still have a tad of gas and potty pains..poo...I am going to the bathroom but it feels like it is stuck there but moving nevertheless. I think that the walking is the big help! I get hunger smells for things I wish I could eat lol but being a good girl here. I see my Doc on 2/8 for follow up. I tried those gas-x strips no such luck for me...I just lay on my belly and heating pad(over my feather pillows)that seems to work the best..I still have some pain but not as bad as the first day out.Weighed myself for the first time today 205lbs. Wish you all the best of luck! ~WhirlWinds~

Hello All! I was banded on the 23rd also. This is my 4th day. I am doing ok the pain isn't to bad. The rumbling of my tummy is so loud...I am doing good with my protein. I was wondering: Does anyone else smell things they liked the most even when they are the only ones home and no one else is cooking? I smell toast and sometimes brewed coffee or spaggetti sauce...my mind playing games....well good luck to all Be Bless ~WhirlWinds~
