  1. Whats everyone eating? I'm 3 days post op and I feel hungry!!! I know it's head hunger but it's hard to combat it. I have not had much the eat today. 1 protein shake, some crystal light, a spoonful of jello... Please help!
  2. Thank you!! I'm home now but I feel over tired. I was released from the hospital yesterday and my sons wedding was last night. I went to the wedding although I didn't do anything, but I think I over did it because I've been sore and tired ever since. Taking it really easy today. Trying to get in my protein and it's difficult. I'm not hungry but I could eat.... All these commercials about food are making it difficult. But I will not give in!!!!
  3. Thanks everyone!!! Your kind words and prayers have really helped. I had surgery on Wednesday I had to arrive at the hospital at 9:30 am but my surgery didn't hAppen until 6:00 pm... I was so mad and ready to leave!!! I did have my surgery and so far it's been ok. Not as much pain as I thought I would have.... Hopefully I get to go home today!
  4. I'm glad you are doing well!!!! Keep up the good work!
  5. Thank you so much!!! Rest easy Gixxergirl! You Rock MrsGloMartin!
  6. Waiting in my room for surgery. I have been at the hospital for 3 hours. I'm waiting, but getting more anxious as time progresses. I really wish they would hurry!
  7. I'm about to head to the hospital in about on hour.. I was a bundle of nerves yesterday, but I'm calm today. I am a little apprehensive if my liver is small enough, that they will send me home because I didn't do my pre-op diet well enough... I'm gonna shake those negative thoughts out oft head!! I'll keep you all posted.
  8. Ok guys!! Only a few more hours!!! I'm hungry today and I'm not sure why!! My stomach is requesting all types of things but my head is saying... Back to the broth!!!!
  9. My surgery is scheduled for tomorrow... I'm so nervous! I am having second thoughts.. What if I can't handle it, what if I don't lose weight, what if I can't control myself and eat the wrong stuff. I'm so nervous. I think I'm in mourning of the life I have to let go of. I know I'm ready but I'm scared !
  10. Praying for everyone who will begin their journey today!!! Gixxergirl praying for you!!! Good luck Gettinbacktome wishing you well and praying for you !!!
  11. Hey MrsGloMartin, Just checking on you and seeing how your pre-op diet is going.. Today is ok, I did not follow my normal plan and let myself get really hungry. I had a protein shake and now I'm better. Next week is our week!!! Good luck to anyone having surgery next week... we are on our countdown
  12. Best of luck to you too!! Fat free Greek plain yogurt makes an awesome dip for veggies and it's good on a baked potato too!!' Hi, yes I'm five days away from my surgery date and I am very excited. I went today for my pre-admission testing and I learned that I'm the first surgery that day so I have to be there at 5:30 in the morning. My hubby is so excited he went out and brought slippers, a new bath robe, toiletries, comb, brush, etc. lol. I told him to calm down I am not taking all of those things with me. I'll probably not take anything but a comb and brush, my Dove soap, some lotion for my very dry skin because I won't be able to wear any to the hospital, my deordorant, toothbrush and toothpaste, a washcloth and towel. From my personal experience with hospitals and major surgery I will not need a bath robe or night gown because I will be wearing the gorgeous hospital gowns which are much easier to get around in with all of the iv's and catheter. I told the nurse to make a special notation on my chart that I want to be up out of the bed at least three hours after surgery. I know that the sooner I begin to move around the easier it will be for me in the long run. You have to move around as much as you can after surgery in an effort to lessen or completely remove an incidence of gas. I'm prepared mentally, physically, an demotionally for this change because I have so many plans for the rest of my life that being obeses will not allow me to see into fruition. Now that I've said a mouth full how are you doing? Our countdown begins!!!! :D :D [/QUOTTeMrsGloMartinI love your spirit!!! You always post the most positive and uplifting post. You have know idea how much of a blessing you are! I thank God for you and pray that he blesses you as you have blessed me!I'm excited to and nervous. Next week will be here sooner than we think! I'm praying for no complications... We hear so much from people who have had problems and I know we should be prepared for the worst... It is nice to hear from those that have had smooth sailing.
  13. Each day is different. Day one I struggled, day two was easier, today I was ok. During the day and at work I'm good, but night time is tough! I can't believe next week is our week????????????
  14. Thank you all for your support!!! I am back on the wagon and excited and I know I can do this. Also, I want to thank you all!
  15. Thank you Amy! I am glad to know that everyone does not have a rough time.
  16. Thank you for your encouragement. I felt very unsure of this process this morning, but I feel better now. I know this will be tough, but I know it is worth it. My surgery is April 23, 2014 and I am very excited. I know there will be many adjustments I have to make to ensure success. I am ready. I am strong. I can do this. .... (that's what I have to keep telling myself)
  17. MammaMac We are surgery mates!!! I have ready started my pro-op diet! I too am planning on returning to work the following Monday. I'll be praying for you to do well! I'm excited and nervous!
  18. Yesterday the nurse said that they will cancel your surgery if you don't follow the liver shrink diet. My question is how would they know... I have been on my pre op diet for 3 days and it's tough. I don't want to cheat but at times I am weak. I know I have it better than some who are on liquids only, I can have 3oz of meat and veggies at dinner time. This morning my mind is stuck on chocolate...???? I know I must do this... I need encouragement this morning!
  19. I totally agree! I would be lost without this app. I look at it all the time to see if there are new post. I feel so much more prepared because I know what to expect.
  20. I too used to think I was too skinny, now I'm too fat!!! I just want to be somewhere in the middle!
  21. It is right around the corner❗️❗️❗️So excited!
  22. Hi everyone! I'm excited today because I had my pre- admission appointment today!! I got my body wash for my pre-surgery shower!! I meet with my doctor on Monday for my final appointment before my surgery and I'm on day 2 of my liver shrink diet!!!. I'm moving right along! I have to admit that today I have reflected over my life and am asking myself how did I let myself get into this shape, this weight! I was very thin growing up, I've always had a big appetite. My step father always said that over eating would catch up with me and I guess it has. Now here I am, morbidly obese with bad knees!!! I should be in much worse shape, but God has allowed me to be more healthy than I should. So now I'm looking for people to connect with who are going through this journey!,, April 23 is right around the corner!!!
