  1. What does port revision mean? Did you have problems ? I feel a mild pinching quite often at my port site, should I be concerned?
  2. Where in East Texas are you? Who performed your Lap Band surgery? I am a Medical Technologist from Angleton, I had my Lap band done at Bayshore by Dr Storey.
  3. Thank you. I have been stuck at just 21.5 pounds all week. I know it is better to lose slow, but this is killing me. Finally today I was down .5 pounds. It is discouraging though, but I must press onward.
  4. Karen, Justwaitin2b Don't worry you will do fine. Don't worry about doing anything wrong. If you do , your body will definitely let you know. My husband was banded in june and he tried solids to soon and it came right back up. I was banded on Sept 6 and I just started pureed foods today. I was excited before surgery and then I read some post on this forum about complications and got nervous. It seemed there were some who were dissatisfied and some who said it didn't work for them, but I have decided that this is tool for me to use and It is totatlly up to me to lose the weight, eat healthy, and excersize. So , hang in there and you will enjoy this forum for talking to people.
  5. Shleb, How did you know your band had slipped that soon? What were your symptoms?
  6. I'll be honest and the stories here, especially being on life support, scares me and I wish I never had this put in. ? Have you been on life support due to this surgery? Now I am scared.
  7. Bill, I just had my band surgery in Pasadena TX at Bayshore medical center. Did you have any complications? Do you have any regrets? My husband had his operation in June and has lost a total of 30 lbs.
  8. Jules, IS this a common problem? I sure hope not as I just got banded a week ago. Scary. Glad you are better.
  9. I am like you ,, where do these people come from? And more importantly,, why do they reproduce? Ignorance breeds ignorance. I have just been banded, but the band is a TOOL not a cure. Jeez what idiots.
  10. I never tried the MedFast. One week after is just some pain from where the tubing and port is. Still taking pain meds for it. However I have been taken off both of my BP meds. I am eating full/soft liquids. I start pureed food on Monday.
  11. Teresa, I spoke with my doctor yesterday (one week post op) and he explained the pain I was having on my left side up above some of the incisions. He said the tubing to the port was actually put through the muscle and it had to be situated really close to one of my ribs so any movement was pulling on it. He assured me that this pain would finally subside. Pureed food on Monday,, YIPEE.
  12. Bob, How are you doing on the pre-op liquid diet? I am just one week post banding and I told my doctor yesterday "NO MORE LIQUID DIET". I am sick of them. I get to start on pureed food on Monday. Good luck with your surgery.
  13. Why does the band no longer work for you? I know that this surgery is a tool and I plan to work with it. I can follow any diet, it was just my hunger that was killing me. I don't have that hunger constantly nagging me anymore (of course it has only been a week), but I don't want to think that 6 yrs down the road this is gonna quit working for me. What went wrong with yours?
  14. Jasmine, I am so sorry to hear about your struggles. I have just been banded one week. But, I know the stuggles of wt loss and wt gain and the emotional and mental roller coaster. I starve myself and feel the loss and it feels good and then I slip up and eat something and feel so full and disguted with myself and feel huge. I am not where you are, but I will give you this peace of advice. You gained a little wt back, so what. Get a hold on it now before you gain IT ALL back. Weigh regularly to keep yourself on track. Chew until you are bored of chewing and you will get full quicker or just tired of eating. Use smaller plates so the portions seem larger. Don't give up. You have not lost the battle, you have just strayed a little. Therapy is a good idea. That is why my husband and I have both had the operation to be a mental support for each other. Several of my coworkers have also had this operation and we cheer each other on. Your church family and your kin family are great sources of support. You just need a little encouragement. You can do this. Don't give up. You are a success story. You are worth the work and maintenance it takes to take care of you. Hang in there. You know there are a lot of us banders out there. Just send us a note and we will be there to help.
