soda
But not alot of calories if you drink diet soda. But the band is around the outside of the stomach, so how can soda effect the band?? Maybe the carbination bloats the stomach- keeping the pouch stretched??

2006 January Chat
Hi all MA people... I will be banded 2/20/06 at Beth Israel Hosp in Boston... anyone had their band there? I am a nervous wreck!! people keep telling me I am crazy to have this done, but I know it is the right thing for me. I never feel full when I eat and eat and eat. I am 130lbs over my usual weight. I attribute my weight gain to being on antidepressants for 5 yrs. Let me know how you all did with your bandings Juju

learning how to eat again
I have a surgery date of feb 20. My MD told me to start drinking from a medicine cup to get use to sipping liquids. I can't imagine myself taking an hour to have a meal- I usually eat fast, hardly chew, and gulp. Did it take a long time for banders to learn how to eat again?? How do you know when to stop eating- do you get full immediately? Right now, I can eat for ever without really feeling full.

dieter's say bands are cheating
has anyone come across people who are on WW or Atkins and tell you they thing getting banded is cheating?? I was so shocked, I couldn't reply to them... I have been morbidly obese now for about 27 yrs. I have tried every diet under the sun, more than once. My problem is, I never feel full. I feel the band can help me get my appetite under control. Shame on these people who think I am cheating. They should applaud me for wanting to become healthy. juju- wanting and waiting to be banded

banding in massachusetts
hi nurse 4126- I am scheduled for my first meeting this thursday(5-26) to meet with the md. I have attended the preop meetings held the first thursday of the month. I would like to get my banding done by July, which I think is feasable, since it takes on average 2 months for preop meetings. What MD did you go with? I chose Dr. Jones, but I hear they are both great!! Where do you work nurse 4126? juju
