Hey 50 & over gang We have a new spot

Hello Everyone, Be very careful about using fluoro. It can pack a lot of radiation. I know because I work in the radiology department of a hospital. Be sure to ask your doctor if he or she has a fluoro license. This is a big deal.

Lap Band Fills / Adjustment Info

Thanks Andy. You are right. I have gotten really lax about my food choices. I just started to feel like this thing is not working for me. At first I felt restriction, which I liked because I knew it was giving me a message to stay on track, but now I feel like it just isn't giving me the restriction that I need. I am going to see y doctor on Wednesday for a third fill. I don't know what size band that I have.

What happened to you when you ate too big a bite? I ak because sometimes I feel like I get food stuck...like eating a cardboard box stuck in my throat. It does go away eventually.

Lap Band Fills / Adjustment Info

I was banded last november 26th, 2007 an have only been filled three times. I feel that I eat almost a much as I did before the banding. My doctor says that he has filled mine more than any ones. I am really concerned. I can eat a whole hamburger and fries.

Hey 50 & over gang We have a new spot

I was banded last November 2007 and have only lost 25 pounds. I have had 3 fills and when I went for m last one, my MD said that he was reluctant to give me a fill because he has tightened mine the most of all of his patients. I can eat a good 2.5 cups of food, but I sometimes get food stuck in my throat if I don't chew carefully. I actually had an upper GI and an esophogram to see if the band had slipped. It:confused2: was shown to be in place and the liquid went through easily and my MD said that it appeared to be normal. I am worried and have stopped exercising because I have lost hope. Is there anyone out there that has had similar problems?

How are you 26th bandsters doing?

I feel pretty darn good. The port site is sore but not unreasonable. I can sleep on both sides with a little support from a pillow. I have been drinking "Whey To Go" protein powder...available a Whole Foods, along with my calcium citrate powder mixed in with milk and it tastes good. The creamy soups in the box and are satisfying, as well as applesauce, yoghurt and jell-o. The gas has subsided and or releases when it should. Does anyone have any suggestions about a bra that won't rub on the upper incision site? I thought of a sports bra that is like a tank top that covers it all. I have to go back to work on 12-4 in business attire, so I can't go without one. I haven't slept through the night yet and I don't want to rely on liquid Vicodan to put me out, so I just try to psyche myself into getting back to sleep by thinking what a great thing I have done for myself as well as my family. http://www.LapBandTalk.com/images/smilies/smile.gif

    Getting Banded tomorrow (11/30)

Hello! I was banded on 11-26, spent the night..and that was good, and have had good gas release. I find that if I lay on my back with my knees out to each side that I get some gas release. Also, start walking right away! This wakes everything up and starts it moving! Good luck to you...you are on your way!
  8. Hello! I am having my lapband on November 26, 2007 and I sure need help in preparing for post op. Can you all help me with a "laundry list" of things that I should have on hand? I am 59 years old and my surgeon is Dr. Vierra in Monterey California. I am very confident that he will perform this well, but I just want to know, in addition to what he tells me, if there are things that I should know from those of you who have actually experienced this surgery. All comments are very welcome!:help:quinsanacafe@aol.com
  9. Hello-I am strongly thinking of having this procedure. I am 5'7'' and weight 220. I am so depressed about this weight.
