I am 6 days post-op and doing well. Thank God no complications. I am sorry your family is not being supportive. I am off all my diabetes meds and blood pressure med. My husband attended some groups w/ me and also met w/ the surgeon so he received a lot of information that way. Measuring the pros and cons... the surgery will save you a lifetime of complications from obesity vs. the small chance of complications. Just my 2 cents!
I am day 6 and going thru the same feelings!!!! I just want the CRUNCH of food! I know in my heart I will not cheat b/c I am too afraid but I have over 3 weeks of blended to go!!! I have a list of things "to do" to divert my attention but sometimes I just want to scream!!! Hang in there- u are not alone!
Hi all,
I had my operation on 4/2 and am doing well. My wt is stable but I am not losing. I am wondering if that is because I was pumped up with so much IV fluids in the hospital and there is some swelling etc. My MD told me that wt loss usually starts 1.5- 2 weeks post -op. I am wondering what others experiences have been. Thanks for any feedback!
I like what Joatsaint said!!! So true. Follow your heart. I have absolutely no shame in getting this surgery (sleeve) and my date is tomorrow!!! I have told many co-workers and friends and most, not all are supportive. They had a piece on the NBC news last night about the success of WLS for people w/ type 2 diabetes. This is revolutionary stuff! I used to be very anti-surgery until I INFORMED myself about it. The people that are not supportive are usually not informed. Regular dieting does not work!!! Good luck to you on your journey!
