Anyone banded in cincinnati, ohio by Trace Curry or other doctors? If so please share your experiences. I am looking foward to having the lapband done. Thanks.

Milbear, Thank you for your kind words. My sister passed away almost two weeks ago. I have gained all of my weight back and am extremely embarrassed. I'm not sure if I'm ready to go back to my doctor yet. It's been very hard losing my sister, and feel as if I don't care about my weight. However, there is that small part of me at short moments that I do. Not sure what I'm going to do now. Karley

I really feel for you and can definitely relate. Congratulations on your weightloss. Even though you have gained some back, you are still down quite a bit. Think of it this way, if you wouldn't have gotten the band, you probably would have not lost and kept off this amount of weight. I too am struggling with eating healthy foods. I do snack quite a bit on sweets. I am an emotional eater, and have recently found out that my sister is dying of Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis. Ever since that news, I have been eating very poorly. If we support each other, we can get through this. Tomorrow, I'm seeing a new doctor and I'm nervous. Hang in there. Karely

I too have the same problem with drinking while eating. I was banded Oct. 2007, am down 20lbs, but I know I'd be down more if I could just stop drinking while eating.

I was banded last Monday, 10/1, and I really expected to be back to work by the following Mon. I have been very sore in the port site, and have a lot of chest soreness. I called my boss Friday, and said that I would need another week off. Is this normal? I thought I would bounce back within a week like most people I've talked to. karely:sick

Thank you for your reply. I do feel a lot better now, but still have some sharp pains at times in the port area when bending. The soreness in my chest is a lot better too. karely

pmmegm, My husband isn't interested in attending any of the support group meetings with me at this time. However, he has become so much more supportive than ever. My surgery is Monday, Oct. 1st at Deaconess Hospital. I have been having a lot of issues with another family member not wanting me to have this surgery. It is so difficult because this person won't speak to me now. My husband has been wonderful helping though this. Karely

pmmegm, My husband hasn't attended any meetings. However, he has not given me any grief about getting the band. I do wish he would be more interested like your husband. I will be banded on Oct. 1st., and I am getting excited and nervous. I know deep down that my husband still doesn't want me to do it, and that makes me feel alone in my journey. Jamietindall19, Congratulations!! I too am being banded in October. My surgery is scheduled for Oct. 1st. The excitment is hard to contain. I start my liquid diet on Monday the 17th for two weeks. My surgery will be done by Trace Curry with Clifton Surgical in Cincinnati, Ohio Good Luck, Lynn

Hello, Waiting to be banded by Dr. Curry at the Clifton Surgical Cntr in Cinti. I live in Harrison, Ohio and would like to find others who live nearby to hear of your experiences. I am waiting for my insurance to get straightened out so that I can reschedule my surgery. Was ready to be banded, everything was ago July 7th, and my husband decided the night before my surgery that he wasn't feeling comfortable with it. Now I'm doing things differently by including him by both of us attending seminars and dr appointments. He seems calmer now and more open to it( although I thought he was ok with it until the night before surgery.) Please reply for much needed support.

<p>I can definitely relate to this. My older sister is so jealous of my younger sister for having gastric bypass surgery. She constantly make hateful comments about her to me all the time. When I told her that I was having the lapband, she got so jealous. The first thing out of her mouth wasn't about me and my situation, it was about her. She said, "I guess I'll be the fatest one the the family!!" This was put to me in a tone like it was my fault she was fat. I said that she could have the surgery too. I was told, "I don't want to do it that way!!" She is also a nurse, and knows so much more than everyone around her about anything to do with health issues. My sister remains angry at me to not taking her medical advice that she doesn't like my surgeon. I was told that I don't respect her professional opinion.</p>
