  1. Hello everyone! My surgery was April 8th. I came home on the tenth. My surgeon was fantastic. I had a hiatial hernia repair done also and a drain left in until yesterday. The PA came into my room and removed it there and said I was well enough to go home. I have to say the whole experience was better then my expectation. I went for a long walk today==three actually==and feel great. Have some stinging in my gut when I bend over low but it's no big deal. The more I walk the greater I feel. If I could give anyone my most important advice, its to keep to your preop diet --NAIL IT--and your recovery will be a good one. Preop weight 285, CW 272,GW 145.
  2. Hello everyone. I am 4 days preop. I would like to know how long it generally takes to get back to a cardiovascular/circuit resistance training like Curves for Women? I want to build muscle and believe that the Curves program would be beneficial. Is anyone using WW to keep healthy habits? Finally, I live in Northwestern Illinois and the winters are pretty bad. Should I invest in a home treadmill?
  3. I honestly don't understand what is going on with my body. I am on my 4th day of the preop diet and have only lost two pounds! I have been totally on this and nothing is happening...I thought the weight would come off quicker. Anybody have any solutions?
  4. My surgery date is April 8th and I am doing my pre op diet right now. My surgeon is Dr. Johnathan Wallace from the Kane Bariatric center. He tells me I will be in the hospital for a couple of nights. Am having the sleeve done at Alexian Brothers Medical Center in Elk Grove Village. BCBS has been good for me too. Approved in about a week. I really appreciate the whole Kane Center. They have taught me that the sleeve is a tool to help me loose weight and the nutritionist is wonderful. I AM going to lose this weight to get healthy so I can play with my grandkids.
  5. Just got cleared from my surgeon today. Procedure set for April 8th 2014. On 2nd day of preop diet. Using Bariatric Advantage chocolate or vanilla meal replacements. 4-5 drinks per day, lots of water, and jello-sugar free of course. So far I am feeling pretty good. Live in the suburbs of CHicago. Looking forward to warmer weather and being thin enough to wear shorts! I mix my shakes with almond milk (unsweetened--30calories) vanilla flavor. I think it gives the shakes a creamier taste. Anybody else?
  6. You have incredible strength and patience. Good luck and God bless!
