    hmmm

I drink from a straw and find it great no issues and find it easier to drink than trying to sip a cup of coffee when I was in hospital they gave me a straw as soon as I came out and I'm now three week post op and I still find it easier through a straw

    Help

They put me on puréed straight after I came out of hospital (5days later) but like I said I have had one very small bowl movement in 2weeks and taken laxatives just went to the pharmacy to make sure I had the right laxatives and have taken me straight to the hospital now waiting in ED cause apparently it shouldn't take that long or can cause toxin poison especially after surgery

    Soup Anyone?

I can out of hospital after 5dayd and was put on puréed food straight away and i was find I had soups took 12 days before I had mash I've had a few smoothies I also brought the big and chunky Heinz soup and puréed it and freezes them which has helped the most i also tried chicken Thai curry blended and got about 6spoonfuls out of it
  7. My surgeon and dietician never told me how much calories I'm to have each day other than three meals and was told to start purée when I came out of hospital (I was in hospital for 5 days) my question is one night I could have 5 spoons of purée chicken and vege in 30mins and took almost an hour to drink an up and go but next moring I could drink a whole up and go which is 250ml in 15-20mins no problem I find I can hold more round 200-300ml in 30mins is this normal??? Is their an amount my stomach is only allowed to hold?? I don't Wana stretch my stomach and I have hardly moved my bowls only once in 2weeks and I'm taking lac-dol and adding fibre to my drinks should I see my doc? As I don't see my surgeon until Thursday??

    Pre-op jitters

My surgery is next Wednesday and I have been on the pre-op diet for one week I'm really scared I'm going to be knock back from the surgery as 3 day in I had chicken laksa for lunch (forgot my shake sachet) and they had no salads left then I went out for work functions the boys ordered my garden salad which was great only problem I was told I could have diet soda so through the night I ordered three glasses only to find half way drinking through the third it was normal coke stopped went to water. And on Sunday I had a smacked on popcorn really regret the popcorn now I also went cold turkey smoking and have struggled with the craving so I have been walking up to 3kms a day for last three days my intake for past week has been under 850 calories and drinking 2lt of water am I worrying to much or could I have screwed myself??

    Pre-op jitters

Yup had surgery last Wednesday came out of hospital yesterday little longer to recovery as wasn't drinking enough but feeling a lot better be prepared for gurgle noises in the stomach and try and walk around as much as u can to get rid of the gas. I diff don't feel hungry anymore and sometimes I have to remind myself to eat (liquard/purée diet) if u don't u will become rather lethargic so worth it I had my surgery done in Sydney at St George Private and so glad I did wouldn't change it!good luck!!!!
  11. I wasn't told how much weight to loose but I did ask what do most people loose he said about 5kgs which I think is 10pounds I was put on opti fast 3 shakes, soups or deserts and two Cups of vege I have certainly stuck to it since Sunday I did have one smoke yesterday but vowed not to again i will call my surgeon today because I had originally put on 6kgs from last surgeon start of jan to more preop diet so I guess I have stressed cause of that I have now lost 3kgs and hoping another 4kg before surgery Thank you so much for the supper first time I been on here and I'm glad I have I felt like I was alone and my friends don't quite understand
