  1. I too felt like it was almost like reading my own post, I was banded in 2008, went from HW of 318, down to lowest of 199, then up to 217ish before having band removed last summer cause of the complications of it slipping. I am so excited to being close to gastric bypass surgery in the next couple months. My hip and back pain got really really bad over the winter. Starting to move again in last few months but looking forward to moving even more.
  2. AllieLee, I am excited to hear your progress. I too had been totally grateful for the outcomes of my lap band, going from 314 to 199. With the discomfort of the slipping and some life issues, I had gone up to 224 when I had it out last summer. I then started slowly and then quickly gaining- I have been approved for RNY and meet with surgeon on Aug 14th. High weight this year of like 268 but down a bit to 255. Seriously curious how fast I will lose with the bypass, but I think its just going to be a wait and see situation. I am also really excited to read all the stories of being full without feeling like food is just stuck part way down. I had so many problems with food getting stuck, coming back up, etc and just accepted it as part of the result. It was worth it in my mind but nice to hear it may not be that way this time around.
  3. I have my last appointment at Kaiser with dietician and social worker before surgery referrals tomorrow. I had my lapband removed last June by Dr. Kim. I guess soon I will be choosing surgeon for bypass. Wondering about others experience with Kaiser and how long it took from appointment I mention till surgery date? This has been a long journey as I was trying to do it on my own until December...
  4. I had lapband removed in June, due to it slipping and my current insurance only covers RNY, thought i was gonna "make it on my own". had band for 5 yrs, and has gone from highest of 314 to lowest of 199. was around 216 at surgery and the weighyr was creeping back up for months until the arthritis pain kicked in and almost completely haltese my exercise, argh! now gaining more and faster. I was approved in january for bariatric program and today for my orientation. since i just discovered this site yesterday, am excited to hear how yours goes for you!!
