  1. Hi Haley, thank you so much for taking the time to post this very valuable information. I planned to pack light and only take the clothing I planned to wear home because I figured between the IV's and being sleepy and in pain I would not use all of the other stuff. I will take my lip and face moisturizer and a toothbrush and toothpaste but that's it. I can use the hospital phone if needed. I really appreciate you today. Praying for a speedy recovery for you, God bless!!!
  2. That's great! I had never thought of that. I'm checking into that tonorrow.
  3. I'm praying for you and cheering you on the sidelines. I hope today and each day thereafter brings you relief from your pain an progress as you embark on your healing process. God Bless!!!
  4. I'm April 24th! Started my pre-op diet Monday, and it's not as bas as I thought.
  5. Hi this diagnosis of sleep apnea should help with your approval although I'm not sure if it will speed up the process. Have you had all of your other testing done? If you have done all of this and your PCP has written a letter stating that the surgery is medically necessary then the rest is up to your surgeon. All he/she has to do now is submit it to your insurance for approval. This process took one week for me. I have Blue Cross/Blue Shield. I hope this helps somewhat. Have a good evening!!!
  6. Yes it does April and please don't stop giving me your feedback I really need it and appreciate it so much. I'm feeling so much better and I'm more optimistic about my future after the surgery. God bless you and have a great evening!!!
  7. You are awesome and very inspirational. I do happy that all is going well for you and I really appreciate you sharing this info with me. I know you are going to continue to do well in your recover. I look forward to your betcha update God Bless.
  8. Hope you feel better soon. Keep drinking the fluids. Being dry is what makes me light headed. Your are in the home stretch now!!! Thank You, I must admit that I am feeling much better today that I did yesterday. I spoke to my nutritionist late yesterday afternoon and found out that it was the sodium free broth that was causing the lightheadness. Today I added just a pinch of sea salt to the broth and it was much better. I got out and walked my five miles today and did a little aerobics on my WIIfit and I really feel great. It also helped that after I weighed myself I've lost 7 1/2 lbs since Monday. I'm riding on cloud nine now and I'm ready for the 21st to hurry up and get here so I can get on with my life!!!
  9. Got Approved For My Supplements!!! Woo-Hoo!!! Just got a call from Insure informing me that my insurance is going to pay for all of my protein supplements. Things are just getting sweeter and sweeter as the days go by. I thank God for all of these blessings that will allow me to have my surgery and regain control of my health and happiness. I'm feeling so blessed today :D
  10. Oops....I just noticed that you did say that you use a pillow when you feel a sneeze coming on....my bad, I'm just so excited to have this forum to chat with everyone and share my journey....
  11. Everybody has a different experience. I'm 16 days post op and I haven't vomited once. The pain is real, but its surgery- you have to heal. My MAIN problem is that sneezing hurts, but if I put a pillow in my stomach, it hurts less.
  12. SILLY, SILLY ME!!! Good afternoon everyone, I spoke with my doctor a few minutes ago and I found out that I did not read his instructions for my pre-fast diet correctly Silly Me Lol!!! What I was doing wrong was using sodium free/fat free broth when I am supposed to be using fat free broth.....what a difference a little sodium makes in taste and bodily response. You guys are awesome and thanks to those of you who tried to tell me that I was supposed to be using fat free broth with the regular amount of sodium in it. Now I am prepard to do this thing for one more week until the 21st, the day of my surgery. Oh yeah, I just weighed myself on my WiiFit and since Monday I've lost 7 1/2 lbs, woo-hoo!!! This is awesome I imagine that by next Monday I will have lost 15-20 lbs total. I'm gonna lov emy new life and I am ready for the pain and whatever my recovery brings because I am pumped and excited about my new life :D :D!!!!
  13. Greetings Julie, welcome to the family!!! It is awesome that just like the rest of us you have made this very important decision to live a helathier, happier life. I'm kinda new here too I've only been a part of the family for a few weeks now, but you will find support, encouragement, and oodles of information to make your journey exciting and so much easier than doing it alone. So Congrats on taking the first step on your journey, I'm sure you'll love this site as much as I do and make some new friend along the way who will understand you and make you feel great!!!
  14. All the best to you, God Bless!!!
  15. Congrats!!! I'm on day four of my pre-op diet and I'm not weighing myself until next Monday the day I started this diet. i hope I will have lost as much as you have that's awesome!!1 Are you or hav eyou experienced any nausea, diahrrea, or lightheadness? I just spoke with my doctor's nurse and she took down my info and said she will get back with me. I just want to know how long this is going to last or if it is a sign that I'm not getting enough protein. My date is April 21st, I'm right behind you and I wish you all the best!!!
  16. Way to go my April 21st date mate!!! I'm on day four of my pre-fast diet and I'm doing fine just having a lot of diarrhea, nausea, and lightheadness. I'm caling my Nutritionist when she gets in at 10 to see what she has to say. This pre-diet is really hard especially when you have an addiction to overeating. I gradually tried to prepare myself for it by drinking the protein shakes in the morning and at lunch and dinner time I would have something light. I wish you well with yours. I have to do two weeks of shakes 3x's per day along with the liquids as needed. Have a great day!!!
  17. Wow, you look awesome!!! I'm gonna be just like you. In two years I will be healthier and happier, and proudly displaying my before and after pics here. Thank you so much for sharing the knowledge especially about the hair loss. God bless you and continued success with your healthy lifestyle. I'm very inspired and feel that I can do this!!!
  18. Yippee!!! Horray!!! Congratulations to you and much success as you get closer and closer to your surgery date!!!
  19. I feel you when you say you could use the extra hands. I pray he will see how much you need his help. Be blessed and I'm praying for you to have a speedy recovery!!!
  20. Prayers are going up for you now relax and rest easy as the blessings begin to flow down!!!
  21. Praying for you that your surgery goes smoothly and that your healing process is easy. God bless!!!
  22. Good morning Crissy, it's great that you are feeling ok except for the gas pressure, that's to be expected. Are you able to walk around yet? If so that's a very good way to get things moving around in your intestines that the gas pressure may be released along with the pain. My prayers are always with you, God bless.
  23. Good Morning jkppt, don't worry about your hubby he really cares for you and supports you men are just extra squemish about stuff like this and emotionally they can't handle it. Thank God you are strong enough to do this for yourself as I know I will be if I have to do any dressing changes after my surgery. I'm glad to know that you are doing well thus far and I pray that each day gets easier for you. God bless!!!
  24. "WHAT A DIFFERENCE A DAY & SUPPORT MAKES" Good day guys,as you all may remember I was complaining about the sodium free-fat free broth I must drink as a part of my pre-op fasting diet, I was completely turned off by the taste and it did not go down well. Today I am grateful to all of you that responded to me and I am pleased to say that after adding a dsh of hot sauce the broth tastes considerably better and I actually enjoyed it. I also loved my veggie broth that I made yesterday using french cut green beans, carrots, onions, garlic powder, and onion salt. I'm very pleased to say that I will survive my pre-op diet and probably lose a great deal of weight now that I can enjoy what I am drinking. Thanks everyone for all of the excellent advice, support, and encouragement. Have a great day I'll chat with you guys later for now I am off for my daily WiiFit workout, today is aerobics day, God bless!!!
  25. Awesome!! Wishing you continued success as your recover from surgery and move another step forward on your journey, God bless!!!
