  1. Yay and congrats. Mine is the 29th so just over a week. I only found the one my doc does as far as support groups that's kind of why I was trying to meet some co folks :-) This is a great support group here actually. But having someone to talk to face to face is maybe more comforting. Best wishes. And keep me posted.
  2. Patrice1 thanks. I think that would be good. I'm having my surgery with dr schoen. I'm very excited and I'll be around 3 weeks post op when you have your sleeve done so I can tell you what I went through. Nice to meet you. :-)
  3. Nice. I don't have a liquid diet. Just one day prior clear liquids. And I'm working a 12 hr shift that's gonna be so hard. Lol. Good luck and keep me posted on the 29th the day after. I'll be waiting to see what I may feel like one day later habaha
  4. Lol I say that too. With the ***** :-)
  5. Looking good. You can really see it. :-) congrats.
  6. Hi. I'm in the springs just wanted to get in touch with anyone also close. I'm having my surgery in Denver on May 29th. :-)
  7. Yay!!!! I'm also scheduled for May 29th. We'll have to keep in contact and check in on each other. :-)
  8. Insurance came through in 2 hrs after it was submitted. APPROVED! My surgery date is May 29th at noon. That's 2 weeks and well 9 minutes now lol. So very excited to start this journey. I might wanna throw up a little but other wise in excited. Lol. Btw 2 weeks and 8 minutes now. Hahahhahaaaa yay!!!!
  9. I won't miss being at a party and wanting to overload my plate because I'm still hungry but being shy because I feel like everyone is watching me. I won't miss having to put deodorant between my thighs so I won't get a "fat" rash when I wear a skirt. I won't miss being hot and sweaty all the time. I won't miss pigging out in the middle of the night because I'm hungry and feeling guilty. I won't miss being the fattest of my very thin friends lol. I WILL still be nice and funny and caring and true to all my people. That something that won't change.
  10. Comfy... I am grateful too. However I actually don't drink soda but maybe 2-4 times a month. I'm gonna miss beer. Lol. Hot summer days bbqs and a very cold beer. That's the celebration for my good bye. As far as the 2 yes goes. I don't think I'll drink them I won't wanna stretch my new tummy! Good luck. :-)
  11. I've decided to have a party. And it's called food and bubbly drink funeral. I have all my friends coming for the last of the last. I will be enjoying BEER all night. Since the doc said 2 years before any kind of bubbly. This is my way of celebrating my life change an saying good bye to the bad foods I'll not allow to sabotage my new life with all my supportive friends. Feeling so blessed.
  12. Yes absolutely. I've already been doin that. I don't wanna be shocked. I've been trying to sip which sucks. Lol I've bought different types of protein mixers different brands. I'm hoping one of them I'll like after surgery. Lol working hard mentally and physically to prepare myself.
  13. Awwwww sac!!! I'm from there. :-( I miss it. But love Colorado. Good luck. I'm thankful too. Whew!
  14. Yay! Congrats. I got mine today too. May 29th. So excited and nervous just like you. :-) good things to come.
  15. Yes I believe that it depends on the patient. I guess I'm a lucky one. I was absolutely terrified of this diet. I've read and read so much about it that it gave me anxiety. I'm just grateful. Like I said my doc is the same as yours. Service of excellence and no complaints. So I'm hoping for the best.
  16. Not sure but my doc is one top in Denver. So I'm not worried. He does these all the time and since he has the medical degree I tend to trust them. Lol I work around docs everyday and lean towards listening to them. Mostly. My bmi isn't really high that might be why.
  17. Love this question. Can't wait to see the replies. Surgery 3 weeks and counting down!
  18. I'm in Colorado. Having my surgery done in Denver. What about you. :-) and yay to no pre op diet. Seriously. They said I can have clear liquids up to 4 hrs before surgery. Thanks. I hope yours gets scheduled ASAP.
  19. I finally got my surgery date. May 29th. 3 weeks away. No preop diet. Just clear liquids the day before. So very excited an happy to be joint the other side. :-) I can't wait to have a story to share.
  20. Girl you look great. You've got legs for days and hair for days. Congrats. :-)
  21. Totally agree with elfnow. I think you're feeling better about you and the "need" for someone to be near isn't necessary. Good luck hun. :-)
