  5. That sounds awesome! Thank you!
  6. Is there a recipes thread anywhere? I'm trying to stockpile some recipes to have on hand after I have surgery next week. I keep seeing all these chili posts, I need a recipe lol
  7. Shawna, I feel ya. I started my liquid diet Friday. I had a headache by the afternoon that lasted all the way till this afternoon. I spent most of the day yesterday in bed. I couldn't even open my eyes my head hurt so bad. I've also been nauseous. Hopefully it subsides in a day or two because I'm on this diet till the 13th. I'm sticking to it though, it'll be worth it in the long run!
  8. So exciting!! My surgery is the 13th. Good luck!!
  9. Tomato soup.... I'm on the preop diet
  10. I am going through Geisinger, a local hospital where I live. Im on my 2 week liquid diet with surgery scheduled March 13th. My doctor sent all my paperwork to BCBSIL this past Monday so I'm hoping at some point this week my surgery is finally approved.
  11. I bought Yoplait light and fat free Chobani. That's what was on my list from my surgeon. Im onto day two of the preop diet, so far so good!
  12. I have BCBSIL also. I have a surgery date of March 13th and start my 2 week liquid diet tomorrow. BCBS received my paperwork from my physician on Monday, the 24th, for final approval. How long did it take before you found out you were approved?
  13. I have all my prescriptions filled and my date for surgery is March 13th. BCBSIL received my paperwork from the doctor on the 24th, just waiting for the final approval. Hopefully by Monday or Tuesday I know I'm good to go. I start my 2 week liquid diet tomorrow.
  14. My surgeon is Dr Petrick. He seems pretty cool. I live outside Wilkes Barre so I always use the Geisinger Wyoming Valley hospital. I was told they are going to start doing surgeries here at some point this year. Danville is about an hour from me. My insurance approved the initial request and I was told they would be submitting for final approval this week. I'm so ready for the surgery already. I hope the final approval process is quick because I'm so ready to do this! 2 weeks to go!
  15. Bcbs IL did approve the initial request back before I completed everything required like 4 months ago. I am using a center of excellence since that's the rule with bcbs. I guess I'm just being a worry wort. These past couple months haven't been the greatest for me. Trying to stay positive though!
  16. I will! I have a pretty good support system with family and friends. I'm just really impatient lol. I thought the surgery would have to be approved BEFORE they schedule it. I assumed right off the bat when they scheduled me that I was good to go. Nope!
  17. I have finished all the prerequisites for the bariatric program and I have my date of March 13th for surgery. My last appointment was this past Friday where they wrote me out scripts for pain meds and a couple other meds to have filled before the surgery. My question is, my surgery is 2 weeks away, I start my preop liquid diet the 28th and my surgeon hasn't submitted to bcbsil for final approval yet! Does anyone out there have bcbsil that was approved so close to surgery? I called the office today and they told me it would be submitted this week. Im just so nervous with my luck that something will happen and Ill get denied or my surgery will get pushed back because the approval is taking too long. This waiting sucks! I already submitted to my work for medical leave/short term disability. Anybody have any input?
  18. I am currently scheduled for surgery March 13th. I had my last appointment this past Friday and was given all of my prescriptions and directions. However, my surgeons office hasn't submitted to my insurance, bcbs illinois, for final approval yet. I called today. Hopefully they send it out at some point this week and its approved quick! I start my preop liquid diet this Friday and I would hate to go through that and have my surgery pushed back or something. Im always thinking the worst lol. Waiting stinks!
  19. How was your experience there? Im scheduled for March 13th.
  20. I live outside Wilkes Barre but surgery will be in Danville through Geisinger.
  21. I'm in PA! I'm scheduled for surgery March 13th, just waiting for final approval from my insurance.
  22. Agreed! We are all tough cookies on the road to healthier, and thinner , lives!
  23. My sister only had to do a week for hers. 2 weeks of liquids only plus the couple of weeks after surgery is sounding rough right now but I can do it!
  24. My date is March 13th. Waiting for final approval from insurance. I'll be starting the 2 week liquid diet the 28th. I'm so excited for a new me!
