  1. Me too and I still have 23 days before I even have surgery! These post are so encouraging and motivating!
  2. @@keepingmysecrets You REALLY DON'T have to go through such a drastic life changing, organ altering experience for yourself. BP is not the only forum to get the information good or bad, that you're seeking. I'm sure there are actual support groups at the facility that you've sought out where you can meet face to face with people who've had various bariatric surgeries and can tell you face to face their own personal experience. There's also Google and YouTube with great information. This decision will be your own personal journey and like everyone else, you too will have your own story to tell whether you decide to go for it or not. Best of luck.
  3. I didn't consider myself "morbidly obese" either....... Doctors did. I had no clue, I thought that I was just "over weight" nevertheless the decision is totally your own.
  4. @@lose4life2 Congratulations to you!! I've been enjoying my favorites, all you can eat crab legs, tacos, pizza, pasta and just plain ole good eating! Lol!! I'm done now, starting to get into the reality of this new stomach/body!
  5. 23 more days to fat freedom start pre-op on the 15th *excited
  6. 23 more days to fat freedom start pre-op on the 15th *excited
  7. My latest moment was at my grandma birthday celebration this past summer 2014..... Our family had identical shirts made and mine was a 2X, when I put it on the day of, it was too tight along with my too tight stretch pants! The kicker was when the photographer posted and tagged me AND everyone that was in the same pictures with me on facebook! I was horrified! My rear end looked like a wide load truck! I looked uncomfortably stuffed and you could see EVERY roll even what I didn't know that I had! Since my substantial weight gain, no one on FB had seen a full body shot of me! The only thing that I could do was untag myself:( I'm scheduled to have my life changing experience (VSG) September 26, 2014
  8. @@CowgirlJane It makes me very skeptical of WLS death reporting since I suppose that if it happens after surgery it isn't counted as due to WLS. It probably all says heart failure... I think that when death happens AFTER WLS surgery, it can greatly depend on the person. Some of us have been obese for so long that it is VERY difficult to comply to all of the rules and regulations of such a drastic change. My doctor also stated this fact that if we don't comply AFTER surgery the mortality risk is greater. (This is not counting leakage or any other surgeon related mistakes) I understand what you're saying too I had a premature birth and my son was doing great, he developed sepsis that lead to kidney and other organ failure yet, his death certificate read, prematurity and organ failure! I found years later after statue of limitations, that sepsis is a "hospital" disease
  9. I've never heard of it but I'm definitely going to look for it! It has 30 grams of protein like Premier! I'm looking to shop around because Premier is a little too sweet for me
  10. September 26, 2014 my new life journey begins:)
  11. Thank you ladies so much! I'm so excited about my sleeve and my passion!!
  12. @@IcanMakeit thanks for your response! I am 39 with hypertension. I've read so many post of people going back to work in as little as 5 days! I honestly didn't know what to tell the blushing bride, although I do know that everyone is different, and after reading your response alone, I'm going to turn it down
  13. I'm having surgery September 26, 2014. I just received an email to travel and do makeup for a wedding October 4th 2014. Do anyone have an idea if I'll be able to accept the job or would that be to soon after surgery to work in that field?
  14. You all have posted great ideas! I wish US the very best of luck in attaining OUR goals! No more taking breaks up a flight of stairs, not taking pictures at all taking face shots only or standing in the back (I'm 4"11!!!) cpap machines, hypertension and diabetes meds, seatbelt enhancers, afraid to go on vacations in fear of not fitting on airplane seats, on amusement park rides, shopping at exclusive stores such as The Avenue, Lane Bryant, Catherine's, Big & Tall, plus size area of any retail store! Here's to normal shopping and SAVING MONEY on everything including health care!
  15. There's a forum here where women exchange clothes different sizes and shapes. I can't remember the name, however, they also discuss shopping at various thrift stores and clearance racks until they reach goal. That's a great idea so that's what I started doing.
  16. Wear my ex favorite size 7-8 pants that have been with me for 12 years! My husband keeps telling me every year to get rid of them but I vowed to wear them at least one more time...... They're not dry rotted either! Lol! I've taken great care of my Gloria Vanderbilt's
  17. Thank you! I hope you that you get yours soon.... from reading all the pre-op post, I thought that my pre-op diet was going to be all liquids...... thank God it's not!
  18. I received my pre-op diet today for my SEPTEMBER 26, 2014 new life journey! EXCITED
  19. Congratulations @@vsgchick I finally got approved and my surgery is scheduled for September 26! I'm excited for the both of us! Congratulations on your wedding too!
  20. Congratulations on your approval!! THAT was the worst part so far for me! Now I know you're anxiously waiting to receive your date which I hope to be soon for you! I'm now, anxiously waiting on my date to get here....27 days.
  21. @@enjoythetime Congratulations on your success! Your story is such an inspiration to me a beautiful read for me beginning my new start at life on September 26, 2014. I too have the same story as far as not wanting to do anything, go anywhere, enjoy my husband, family and friends. It's really depressing. I'm looking forward to telling my story and my date can't come soon enough:)
