  1. Received my Explanation of Benefits for my surgery. My insurance paid everything except for my $250 co-pay for hospital admission!
  2. Thanks for all the well wishes and prayers. Good luck and prayers to everyone else having their surgery!
  3. I did not have to do a two week pre-op diet. I am on clear liquids today though. I hope and pray your surgery goes well too!
  4. Tomorrow is the day! As of right this second, I am ready and I am not nervous. I hope I remain calm and not nervous. Worst thing is I don't have to be at the hospital until noon. I think I can handle the not eating till then, but not sure about the not drinking! Anyway - wish me luck and pray that all goes well for me. Thanks!
  5. Congratulations! I wish and pray for the best for you. I will have mine on Wednesday, I don't know what time yet, but I am anxious to begin! Keep us all posted on your progress!
  6. Pre-op was a piece of cake. I had already had my EKG and my blood work was still good. So, all I had to do is answer lots and lots of questions. Wednesday is the day of my surgery. I think I am actually looking forward to it. I'm not concerned about the surgery itself, I am worried after the nausea and food issues. I'll get through it - like everyone else. I expect the first 4-6 weeks to be pretty rough, but I have a great support system.
  7. I have my pre-op appointment tomorrow at the hospital. I hope all goes well and nothing gets in the way of my surgery on Wednesday!
  8. Getting ready for my June 4th surgery. Trying to make a list for the grocery store and am looking for ideas to make the clear liquid and full liquid portion of the post-op diet more interesting - add a little variety. Help!
  9. Thanks everyone! It was very helpful to read all of the comments. Thank God for this forum. Still nervous, but this is something I have to do for myself and my health!
  10. So sorry to hear about your hubby. Our God is awesome and ever powerful. Prayers being sent your way!
  11. OK. I think I must be crazy. I've been working toward the goal of weight loss surgery since January. Now that I have my surgery scheduled, I'm starting to second guess myself. Can I do this? Should I do this? Am I ever going to feel "normal" again afterwards? The list goes on. I think I must be out of my mind to do this, but then tell myself that I absolutely HAVE to do this for my health. I've done my research and understand that the first couple of weeks/months are going to be tough, but what if I never feel better. Anyone else out there have/had these same thoughts? Tell me how you got through this.
  12. I have my date finally. It's June 4th! Yay
  13. I just received my date today - June 4th!
  14. If so, which doctor and facility are you using?
  15. That is so awesome! Keep up with good work!
  16. I have BCBS-Federal and my approval took 6 business days! I've read on here that people have gotten theirs in 3 days. I am assuming that since my BMI was less than 40, mine took a little longer. Either way, I'm happy I got it. I pray that your's comes back fast! Best of luck to you!
  17. They submitted my file on Tuesday the 22nd and I heard back from my surgeon's office yesterday. My BMI was under 40, so I think thats why it took as long as it did. I've heard that others with BCBS-Fed hear back in 3 days, but like I said, I think its maybe because my BMI was under 40 and they had to review all the other tests/info. Good luck to you. Keep me posted!
  18. I received my approval from BCBS-Federal yesterday! So excited.....and nervous!
  19. GardenLady, I just received my approval this afternoon! My BMI was under 40, so I'm guessing that's why it might have taken since last week. I have an appointment next Thursday with cardiologist to get cardiology clearance then I meet with surgeon to sign consents. I guess that's when you schedule a date. I am pretty excited and scared. I ran into a friend tonight who had gastric by-pass and she looked pretty bad. I think she's lost too much weight. She was all shrivelled (spelling?) up. Where are you in the process?
  20. I received my approval from BCBS-Fed today! I am so excited. I go to my cardiologist next Thursday for my cardiology clearance and then I have to meet with surgeon and sign consents and schedule surgery! I am so excited!....and scared!!!!!
  21. My paperwork was submitted on Tuesday. I called BCBS today and they said it was pending. They need a call from the surgeons office. Yikes! I called surgeons office and left message. Now I am really worried
  22. Congrats! So glad to hear you are doing so well! Keep us posted on your progress!
  23. Yes, I did take MMPI test. I passed. I didn't really realize you could pass or not pass, but the NP told me that she recvd 4 reports for the psychologist the day she received my results and I was the only one who "passed".
