  1. What do you mean by weigh/measure it out? I plan on just drinking/eating the liquid, I just can't stomach chicken broth anymore. I'm so tired of chicken broth, veggie soup is sounding like filet mignon.
  2. Does anyone know if strained beef veggie soup is ok to have when I start full liquids? I don't know if it may be considered to acidic. It's not on my banned liquids list but it's not listed as an example on my approved liquids list.
  3. I was nauseous only when I tried chicken broth so I haven't had anymore of that. I'm so glad to know it's normal cause I don't wanna end up back in the hospital.
  4. I'm totally looking forward to day 4 now!!
  5. Thanks you all that makes me feel better that it's normal. I actually forgot I have a big box of sf Popsicles in my freezer and I'll send my husband out to get me some crushed ice. Those are some good ideas, I'm just gonna try getting in what I can and I'm not gonna push it to get more down.
  6. I was sleeved on yday (4/23) and I actually feel worse today than yesterday but my pain is controlled by meds, is it normal to feel worse the day after? Also I'm not getting enough liquids in, every time I take a sip I feel ill, is that normal? Should I sip through it or is that a sign that I'm full may vomit if I continue to sip? Please if anyone has any insight let me know. Thanks.
  7. I was sleeved on the 23rd. The most pain I experienced was the first two hrs afterwards then it gradually got better. No gas pains, a lot of soreness. Biggest problem I'm having is getting in my liquids, it's so hard. I'm scared of dehydration but I can only drink about an ounce before I feel full and I'm afraid if I keep going I'll vomit...looking forward to tomorrow to be better. Also no hunger at all, head or real.
  8. Thx for the response. My surgery was yesterday, and I was NOT weighed in...yaaay...lol. My surgeon said he didn't run into any complications and maneuvering around my liver was no problem b/c it was in good condition. Congrats to you on losing 25lbs that's a great accomplishment.
  9. Glad to hear you're doing good webhopper...!! I'll be joining you tomorrow, my surgery is scheduled for 9am, I'm so freaking nervous...congrats to you!
  10. Thx so much JustMe and Sha! I'm glad I know what to possible expect, that helps a lot. I've read so much about the actual procedure and the after care but then I realized I didn't know that to expect before. Most ppl don't care too much about that part but I guess I'm a weirdo like that lok
  11. Hi Jerziegirl My surgery is on 4/23 and I've lost only 5lbs so far so I'm a little nervous about that. Were you weighed in the morning of your surgery when you checked in at the hospital? I wasn't given an amount to lost, I was just told to do the pre op diet but I've seen ppl lose so much weight and I'm sitting at 5lbs... :/
  12. For anyone who has been sleeved already this month I wanted to know if someone could kind of walk me through the process once you get to the hospital. My surgery is on 4/23 and I'm a stickler for detail, it's driving me crazy that I don't know what to expect. I know hospitals operate differently but just would like to hear other experiences on what happens between checking in and actually being rolled into the E.R...
  13. I'm in the same boat. I only lost 5lbs but my surgery is on Wednesday. I wasn't told that weight loss was a requirement but I'm still nervous about only losing 5lbs. I was also wondering if I would be weighed when I checked in for surgery, I really do hate to disappoint.
  14. I haven't kicked either one yet but I plan on going cold turkey on Monday and then my pre op starts on Wednesday. Getting a little nervous...
  15. Hello 521 Diva. Sounds like you are doing great! Congrats on the successful surgery. I'm getting sleeved on the 23rd of this month but I just wanted to warn you to be careful with the sucking/licking thing. I've read that can actually lead to an eating disorder. Some ppl chew their food and spit it out I can't remember the exact name of the disorder but do try and be careful with...again congrats on making it over to the losers bench!!
  16. Oh wow a month! So I won't complain about my two weeks, but I know I won't like it a three day one sounds a helluva lot better too lol
  17. I would be pissed also. It's always strange when I hear stories like this about dropping the ball when submitting yo the insurance. They should be able to this stuff with their eyes closed I'm sure it's not their first time. That really shows a lack of professionalism, sorry you're having to deal with this mess but hopefully everything is resolved quickly.
  18. My surgery is also scheduled for 4/23! Do you have to do the pre op diet?
  19. I'm 4/23 also...! I have to do two weeks liquid, how about you? Weight: 256 Goal: 120 (dr's) Age: 30
  20. I didn't know some ppl had to do the liquid pre-op diet for 5-6 weeks!! And here I am pouting about the two weeks i'm staring down...
  21. Update: My approval took longer than what I had expected. My psych eval held me up for quite some time but once that finally was cleared up it only took my insurance a week to approve me. I received a verbal approval on 03/24/14 and I asked for the approval letter to be sent to me via email and I received that on yesterday 03/27/2014. I am now waiting on my surgeon's office to schedule me for my appointment so that I can get my surgery date...hope that happens soon!
  22. I have BCBS, no supervised diet required. I had to do 1 Nut visit, 1 Psych visit and then the surgeon submitted to the insurance and it took about a week to get my approval. My surgeon also requires that I have an EGD done and now i'm just waiting on my surgery date. Once you contact your preferred surgeon they will give all the details you need, most likely they will check your eligibility before they even schedule your first consult appointment.
  23. I can most certainly relate. I'm 4'11 and weight 259. My husband is a very social person but I tend to hold him back b/c I'm not comfortable going out and being seen. I'm always thinking people are looking at me and judging me about my weight. It's also hard to go on outings with some of his friends and they bring their girlfriends/wives and they're are like sticks but they sit around and talk about how fat they are! That's hard for me because if they are weighing less than 140 and consider themselves fat I hate to think what they call me...I'm so ready for this surgery so that I can begin to enjoy life again and allow my husband to do the same.
  24. It's best to contact the number on the back of your card. I have not heard anyone with BCBS say they didn't have coverage for the surgery but plans can be tailored different so you should definitely call to ask. The cost depends on your deductible, OOP max, and if your surgeon has a program fee. I have a $500 deductible and $2800 OOP max. I've almost met my deductible so I know I'll have an additional $2300 to pay for my surgery. If that makes sense.
