  1. Do you mean South Bend Oregon? If so I do not know this doctor, however I can tell you that my surgeon in Boise is Wonderful Dr. Cahn
  2. Amanda Good luck and make sure to take care of the incisions. Those were the worst for me. They got infected and it really sucked, however there are a lot of advantages to this surgery. Just be careful and take good care of yourself. make sure to get good sleep and rest.
  3. This is totally true, as you eat more Protein, the fat is what is burning up, however the protein helps build muscle. That could explain it.
  4. wow girl, that is scary, did you see another doctor for a 2nd opinion? I haven't had anything like that but i just got banded on 8/20. Good luck honey
  5. Wow, I bought a bunch of baby food thinking that it was going to be great. I have not tried any yet, but don't know if I even want to. Is the fruit good? I bought more of that then I did the meat, but I bought the chicken and apple and thought it sounded so good. "Sounded" being the key word. i also got some chicken lasange for later on when i can have something more solid. OH my, now I don't know if I will eat it. Hope my cat loves it
  6. Hey girl, Keep on Keepin on!!! i hated the preop diet and got so mad because here are all these people eating all this food with what seemed to be no recognition of what i was trying to do and it really sucked. BUT I kept on track, every once in a while i would BBQ a 1/2 chicken breast adn eat it. It is so hard to take EVERYTHING that you are used to eating out of your diet immediately. The day after my weigh in I went to the fair and oh yes, I did have a corn dog. And did it taste great? Yeah, did I feel so guilty that I cried? You bet. But you have to just buck up and make the choice to either do or die, this isn't a question of can i tolorate this, it is a question of if you want to live a healthy life. Don't Give up!!!! You can do this. And it really does get easier after like the first week. I was at my company picnic today, and as soon as the food arrived I left. I couldn't put myself in that position to smell all of the food and not want to eat so I jumped in the car, had a couple drinks of my protein shake and am now sipping on some cream of broccoli soup. It is okay you will do this!!!
  7. Hi everyone, I just got banded on 8/20 and I am an emotional wreck. I am but I'm not. I am because I see the sucess of others and pray that I too will be successful. Went to my company picnic today, they had pizza, chicken, chips, salads. OMG I am so hungry!!! I have done well at not eating what i want, but I was told that I have to wait 3 weeks to eat puree food, but I have read that after the first week I could eat pureed food is that really true? Good luck everyone!!
