What a small world! I love Dr Svendsen, he seems so sincere and I think he really does this because he cares. He has a ton of experience, too, I think over 2000 surgeries...Maybe I'll see you...lol Do you think they room us in a special ward with other bariatric pts? Who knows, we could be roomies

You're going to do it, and before you know it you will be in recovery and starting your new journey! Keep us (me!) posted, I go in Tuesday the 11th and I am getting jittery too!

I am so sorry this happened to you, but unfortunately, people are very cruel and narrow minded when it comes to obese people. I guess they think it's okay or that we don't have feelings. This homeless-looking guy with no teeth and a 40 oz called me a fat bitch outside of my office. My husband is in great shape and people stare sometimes when we go out together. It hurts....I just try to focus and I don't get caught up in the "I'l show them" mindset because then they continue to have power over me. I am doing this for me... Love.

Thanks for the replies and well wishes! I am planning on doing a post-op experience post, maybe it will help someone and I think it will be nice to look back on..I wonder what I will write when I am loopy from the anesthesia! lol

Hello All, I am getting my sleeve Feb 11 at 9 am! I have been lurking here for months, and I have learned so much! I want to say thanks to everyone for sharing and being so open and honest. I was hoping to reach out to someone who has a similar surgery date, or anyone who maybe wants to keep in touch and support each other in what seems to be a potentially difficult first few weeks. I am so proud to be able to soon sit on the loser's bench... Side question: I have a runny nose, itchy throat, no cough or fever. It came on Friday night and doesn't seem to be getting worse. Mucus is clear (sorry if TMI)...they wouldn't cancel for this, do you think! Thanks for reading!
