  1. Hey guys, I'm 3 weeks sleeved (tomorrow) and I was wondering when we are allowed to take ASA or Ibuprofen or even Tylenol. I have had a headache for a couple of days and want to take something for it but I don't want to take something I'm not supposed to yet. I should have asked my surgeon on my first post op visit but I didn't think to ask ;P Thanks!
  2. Went to the office this morning and saw the other surgeon since my surgeon is in surgery today. She thinks my left side abdominal pain is being caused by the stitch that's in there that closed the trocar site and when I move and use that muscle its rubbing and irritating that area. She gave me a injection of local so that will help for a couple of days. She answered all of my questions and was wonderful! She reviewed what I've been eating (mostly some pureeds since I was scared to advance to softs) and said I'm not eating enough (which I new). She said these next couple of days (while the local is working) increase my pureeds and introduce soft foods to see if it's the muscle or my sleeve. I feel so much better and assured! AND I've lost 40lbs since Aug 1st just wanted to update incase this info can help someone else.
  3. Surgery nurse here. I've been in nursing for 12 years. Sleeved Aug 14 Go back to work Sept 10th (almost 4 weeks off ).
  4. I've been having pain in my left upper abdomen since surgery (3weeks ago). At first I just thought it was normal and talked with my surgeon about it on my 1 week follow up appointment and he gave me Hyoscyamine for cramps. That worked in the beginning and the cramping went away. The second week I thought it was just the muscle healing but now I'm in my third week and it's getting worse not better. Very tender over my stomach and constant ache to that part of my abdomen. I've only been able to tolerate pureeds and only 4-6oz. I thought maybe it was to much and I went back to full liquids for a couple of days and even decreased my portions but the discomfort has never subsided. I even went to clear liquids today but no relief, still pain. I left a message with the office this morning at 9:30 with the nurse but no one called me back. I just paged the surgeon because I'm concerned that I still have pain and he asked why I didn't call the office today since he was there and I said I did but no one returned my call. Very frustrating!! He told me to come in to the office in the morning to be seen but I have to see the other surgeon since he will be in surgery, ugh! Sorry for the long post but I'm getting discouraged

    August Sleevers..what Is The Progress

Hey there! I was sleeved on Aug 14 as well 1) pure protein shake in the morning (which I don't like at all), yogurt mid morning, puréed cottage and puréed fruit or hummus and puréed alvacado in the evening. only able to get in around 50 oz water daily at this point. my portions vary between 4-6oz each setting. 2) my energy is pretty much back to my pre-op energy level...yay! one more week off of work so hopefully I'm ok when I return on the 10th. no nausea but I'm still having a dull pain in my left upper abdomen. it varies from muscle pain to stomach pain and sometimes both. I go back to the surgeon on the 12th so I have to talk with him about this, otherwise I feel pretty good 3) I've lost 37 lbs so far from my weight 2 weeks pre-op when I started my liquid diet.
