  1. I'm almost 2 weeks post op, not on puréed foods until next week. I can only get about 1/2 cup maybe 3/4 cup of tomato soup down. And I don't really have issues with liquids.
  2. I'm 13 days out and for the first week mu abdomen was VERY vocal. Loud if I did or didn't eat. My roommate and friends could hear it if we were just hanging out watching TV or whatever. Became quite funny. It's calmed down quite a bit now, Thank goodness, since I go back to class tomorrow. Would have been embarrassing sitting on class with a belly that sounded like a wild animal! Do you take prilosec or anything like that?
  3. I stopped weighing myself for this reason. I'll go to the doctors office enough in the next month that I'm just going to weigh in there.
  4. Both times I got weighed before surgery I was in my clothing and it was just before going in and talking to my doc. I even kept my boots and jacket on. Never heard of a doc making you get in a gown before weighing you.
  5. I ordered a shape wear tank top from jc penneys, I'm just waiting for them to get here. I'm 13 days out, and still wearing my binder, but it's annoying. I'm hoping the tank top will give me enough support. I'll let you know if I like it as soon as I get it.
  6. I like mine soft, but not soupy. Or wet? And yes add cheese, best thing. I hope to god that my new sleeve likes eggs.
  7. I have bcbs of michigan and it took just over a week for them to approve it. Longest week ever!
  8. You'll just get bills from whatever doctor/hospital for whatever insurance doesn't cover, until you reach your out of pocket maximum. That's how it's been for me.
  9. Ooooh, good idea! I hate soupy scrambled eggs too!
  10. Same. I was told I could only take Tylenol before and and for a month or two after surgery.
  11. That sounds good. I actually have to remember or eat. The only time my body is telling me to eat is in the morning when I wake up. I can't wait to get to soft foods to try an egg and see if my tummy can handle it! And yo eat some chicken! Lol
  12. I didn't get a uti, but I did get a lovely yeast infection! I had to have my doc call in a med for it. I was worried I was getting a uti, but I think it actually worked itself out, thank goodness.
  13. I really can't use technology and pain meds at the same time. Hah
  14. Yeah. Right now I eat half a yogurt for breakfast, the other half for lunch, a protein drink or 2 of some sort during the day, and then 1/2 cup of soup for dinner. And usually a pudding cup in there somewhere. I've been averaging about 400-500 calories a day. I try to add more, but with all the fluids it's hard to get any more in. It's already hard between the soup and protein drinks and and a yogurt to want anything more. I have to constantly remind myself to drink because I forget. Oh, I do eat a couple few popsicles a day too.
  15. That's awesome your parents are eating better too! My roommate also switched her eating habits and stuff too. I can handle people coming over and eating pizza and other crap in front of me, but it's nice she's eating better so I don't have crap food in my house. She's doing a high Protein diet too, but with healthy foods. She doesn't really need to lose weight, but it's comforting to have someone along for the ride. Hah.
  16. You're welcome! I have some really cool bowls, but they're huge. The first time I put my half cup of soup in there I was like, I know I'm not even hungry, but wtf. This is like a drop of soup. Ha. I know not all jcp penneys have the same stuff on clearance, but I got some small cute white bowls on clearance for only $1.97 each! Just an idea. Or target. The last time idea was there they had some really fun dishes. I also need to get some kid or smaller spoons and forks.
  17. I'm also just sick if being on pain medication. I'm tired of feeling so doped up and sleeping on and off all day. You can only enjoy that for so long. Haha.
  18. I'm feeling much better tonight. I've pretty much rested all day, getting up to only use the bathroom, get something to drink/eat, and to just get up because laying down is boring. Ha. Either the pain meds & ibuprofen are working their magic, or I'm actually starting to heal again. It's nice to not get up to pee and not cry like a baby. I have a follow up appt on Tuesday AM, and I'll be sure to bring it up. But as of now, I feel MUCH better, thank god. Cause I was pretty miserable. Now I just hope it stays this way as I have class tomorrow and really can't miss it. Thanks for the replies and concern. <3 If I was still in the same amount of pain as I was in last night, I'd go to the ER. The pain last night was some of the worst pain I've had in my entire life. Tearing my ACL wasn't even as bad!
  19. My advice is if you don't have them already, invest in some small bowls and plates. I had small plates, but not bowls. I got some a few days after coming home and realizing that my normal bowls made my half cup of soup look like nothing. Much better in smaller bowls.
  20. I'm not supposed to take gummy anything until I'm 2 months out, because with your stomach healing it can get caught in there, and your stomach can't process it right yet.
  21. Prilosec isn't going to do anything for gas or gas pains.
  22. Same. I've lost 13 lbs since monday. All this malarkey (even injuring myself now and hating life) has totally been worth it. I couldn't be happier with my choice to change my life.
  23. I'm 5'2 and my doc set my goal as 180. Although I'd like to get to 140... i don't even think I could be 130 (which is the highest "recommended" weight for my height) without looking like a complete twig. I guess I have a weight "I'd like to be" but really, I just want to get to a weight that I'm healthy, feel good, and am comfortable with.
  24. 5'6 and you want to get to 137? That's skinny!!!
  25. I went home with the worst gas pains. The only thing that helped was moving. Walking. And when I'd have all the rumbles in my tummy I'd walk around and then go sit on the toilet and hope something would come out. Finally the morning after I came home, I was able to sit on the toilet and pass some gas. Gas x helped a little teeeeeny bit, but really, moving around is about the only thing to help it along.
