  1. Scurry, I completely feel what your going through. I was sleeved Dec 2013. And I lost only 64 pounds. Now this past 4 months I gained 14 back. It makes me very depressed. I know the past 4 months has been stressful, I'm a General Manager at a brand new restaurant and the owner is wanting so much. I know I turned back to food to handle stress because I'm eating bread and chips again. I plan to start over tomorrow and hope I can do this. But I just don't understand why I've only lost only 64 pounds in a year....
  2. I know exactly what you mean Jay15. My mom lives with me and helps me take care of my child and my nephew. I would die for bread and pasta, now being 8 months post op, I have no desire for that. But as far as the snacks, we keep in a separate area. My mom keeps hers in her room, and for the kids a cabinet that I am not allowed in. It's been working out good. If I don't see the food, I'm not pressured.

    Woman only please

I.ve haven't had a cycle in several years, my OB said because of me being on BC pills. However, I'v had the same experince as Katie74. I have had two ultra sounds and discovered polyp's on my cervix. I have a biospy scheduled for next week.
  4. I had my procedure for the sleeve done on 12/31/14 weighed in at 301. Here it is 6 months has past and I only lost 40 pounds. The month of May I know I slipped (and it was my fault not paying attention of what was going in my mouth) due to the overwhelming stress at work. I come on here frequently to get tips and advice from others, and what I see is people who had the surgery in Dec like me lost 70-90 pounds. I know our bodies function differently, but its really depressing. I've been strict with myself the past two weeks writing everything down, I've done away with tea, and been drinking at least 60+ of Water a day. So I weighed myself this morning and lost only 2 pounds (261). What really hurts me, I'm still wearing the same size 22 pants, I do say that my 2XL are a little bigger on me. I've been excercising 4 days a week., its either at the gym or walking my subdivision. Do you think I'm personally doing something wrong?
  5. j2014, You know now that I thiink about it yes, I'm having small sips. Its really hard not to have a sip of Water (or whatever drink).I need to pay more attention to that. Maybe this can help me. Thanks.
  6. Thanks LIvingfree! As I've really thought alot this past weekend, I think that is where I failed, carbs. My surgeon told me like you said focus on Protein and Water. He most probably told me about carbs, but I didn't (or maybe didn't want to) hear about carbs. I have cut back on carbs big time this past week.
  7. Thanks for your advice, I have cut out the breads and pastas this week and I've been faithfully tracking everything I had eaten. I'll keep doing what I can and see what happens.
  8. Sorry my procedure was done 12/31/13...duh me

Can you still eat in restaurants?

I am a General Manager at a McDonald's. So, I face fast food all day long. I do pack some lunch or snacks. But there are times I want to eat.. I just have to make the right decision. Instead of trying to eat a steak bagel, I only get the steak and eat that. I think I'm doing pretty good considering all the food around me.

    4 Months Post Op Pics

You Look Great!! I sure hope I can do it too in 4 months. I'm only 3 weeks post and don't feel like I lost anything.
  12. Hi Michelle! I'm Kim, I live in Rosenberg, TX. I just had my sleeve done on New Year's Eve (6 days ago) by Dr. Dirk Rodgriuez. I am 41, and weighed in the morning of surgery at 298. I know I'm a newbie here.... I was lucky, Dr. Dirk did not put me on a preop diet. However, I started buying the Whey Protein and tried them before hand. However, I cannot stand the shakes that we make with powder. But I've been trying to get in some Ready to drink ones. I am still experimenting, but yet getting the protein in. I also found that adding the plain Protein Powder to the chicken broth is pretty good. Two days before my surgery I was wanting to bail...but I thought that I'm doing this for me. And I know I can handle the first month (and I'm a big baby..lol). I also know that all these shakes i have to drink now, I won't in the future because I can eat chicken, fish, etc. I am really glad I made the decision to do this, because it will pay off!
  13. I've been drinking the Slim Fast Shakes. They have 20g protein, and i think taste better than the powder. Is this one ok?
  14. Thanks! I'm going to have to try the SF pudding mixes. I'm not even a week into this and having issues downing the shakes. I found one I like, but I know eventually it will get old
  15. I just had my surgery on New Years Eve and saw this site few days before. I came back an registered. Thanks for the recipes for these protein shakes. This is my biggest problem.
