I too start my shakes tomorrow Erin and this weekend has been a bit of a free for all ! Might as well enjoy the last bit of deliciousness before our " fresh start" ! My date is feb 10th and I'm on liquids as of tomorrow for the next 3 weeks !

I start my shakes on Monday it's going to be a interesting 3 wks pre op and no food :S I hope between the shakes an broths I stay full !

1 week to the date and the liquid diet starts I honestly thought I would be into EVERYTHING for a last hurrah but glad I have no temptations that leads me to believe being successful after surgery won't be a problem:) can't wAit to get this started getting more nervous however the excitement definitely out weighs the nervousness

I'm so jel! 3 days I would love to only have 3 days of liquids it's gonna be a tough 3 weeks but I just keep my eye on the prize and know it will all be worth it in the end new year new me

It's the liquid meal replacement they prescribe here before the surgery . A girl I know was on it 3 wks before her surgery an lost 30lbs in those 3 weeks

Oh your so lucky I'm in opti fast for 3 weeks !! No good for 3 weeks should be interesting nonetheless it will be worth it in the end

Received my date today for surgery !! Liquid diet starts January 20th and then off for surgery February 10th ! Anyone else have February dates ?

Well The wait is over !!!! I got the call about a hour ago and Feb 10th is my surgery date such a exciting day

Yes misty I hear you and I don't let it discourage me my family and my bf are very supportive but one of my good friends which is also a bigger girl does nothing but run this surgery down and constantly give pure attitude and tells me it's the easy way out ! Which in fact it's not a miracle surgery that u just lose the weight you have to be willing to change your entire life style and work your a$$ off to get the results you want ! It just bothers me for the fact that she doesn't have to have it done and it's my life an my choice we all know if it was a matter of being More active to become the healthy person we are trying to be by having this surgery we would all do so right?!? And she's made the comments like great I'll be the only " fat friend" well we live in canada where this surgery is free to us ( aside from the optifast shakes) so if she truly wanted to make the change for the better she could do so as well .... Or you know become more active since in her mind that's all it takes lmao . I don't let it upset/ hurt my feelings but it really is more of a piss of then a deterrent! Aside From her I have an amazing support circle and I'm even more happy to have all of yous As well

Yes once I get my date I will definitely join /create the month of group ! That's a fantastic idea ... And I couldn't agree more with everyone this far it's such a relief to know I can come on here an read away and chat to people as well and get that extra support . I'm sure I'm not the only one that has that one person in their life that is dead against the life change and so critical and judgemental ! I love reading the good and bad it really helps prepare you even more mentally and know what to expect physically .

I am going with the roux en y ..... I am very excited for this new chapter in my life to begin as I am a mom of 3 little and can't wait for the day I can run with them as I'd like to as excited as I am of course nervousness definitely comes along with it too . Having this app has eased some of that though

I started my journey march 2013 have since then completed my orientation all my appts with dietician , nurse , psychologist , pre-surgical class and met the surgeon as well! On Nov. 25th I met the surgeon and was given my prescription for the optifast shakes (3week supply) . But am now waiting for a call from the hospital to give me my date and tell me when to start my shakes! I am glad I have stumbled across this app for my phone as I find I am constantly glued to it reading everyone's success stories an hoping my day is only around the corner to join the "losers bench" it's nice to read an see the pictures and know I'm not in this alone !!
