  1. Are you having shoulder replacement?
  2. Wow I have had those same thoughts. I weighed 257 in Oct of 13 now I weigh 235. I still ave my old cravings etc, but I have lost some. I wonder about getting too far also, with the Medicare thing. My nut said not to get below 241' but that was before approval so I'm not sure of anything. I don't think I can do it on my own though
  3. Hi I had to have hip surgery on Dec 23 2013, so glad I did . My surgeon wants me to wait for at least 4 months before my gastric surgery. I thought it was a long time, but your body DOES need to heal. I now feel great, and I think I am about ready. All of your systems need to be healed. I want to feel real good before I do the gastric bypass!
  4. Congratulations ! Hope you are feeling better every day. Just keep talking about your progress .... I'm still scared to pieces.
  5. I'm having bypass in March hopefully, just a LITTLE nervous!!!
  6. All the best to you, let us know how you do.
  7. I know it helps to read, read read, but sometimes I just sit there and worry about having the surgery because a lot of the stories are not too positive! Yikes....and then I think to my self...stop I don't want to just stay the same and not loose the weight. I got on the plane and almost had to get a seat extension!!!!!! Got my thought back in order real fast! Hope everyone is doing well! Linda
  8. Hi all, have not heard from anyone since jan 26, anybody out there? Linda
  9. Hi ladies, I lost my marbles yesterday...went to the grocery store yesterday... This is after really watching my fat and sugar intake for the last 6 weeks since my hip replacement. Well when I was checking out I had, ice cream. Cookies, a candy bar, grape juice and bread .....there were other sensible things too.I won't be having surgery until March because I have to wait for 8 weeks!!! I'm so sick today and really mad at my self.....however it does wake me up to the fact I have a serious sugar issue. Need to know if any of you have these issues while waiting for surgery, Thanks, Linda
  10. Thanks for the information. Sounds like you are doing great. I'm in Colorado and can't get surgery for another 6 weeks or so, just had hip replacement. It's doing great. I wish I would have done this sooner also, it does help that Medicare and my supplemental will pay for it. Keep in touch with your journey, us "mature gals " need to stick together! Linda
  11. Well best of luck to you! I've not heard of this procedure, but I'm going to ask my doc, sounds like a good idea. Linda
  12. Another question, I had to wear those support stockings for 6 weeks after surgery!!!! Do we know if we need to that for bariatric surgery?
  13. Hi everyone, I'm nervous to about all of this. Had hip surgery and was on pain killers, so I've not had any appetite ....but that's worn off so I'm not eating very well. I'm approved but I have to wait for clearance from the hip doc. Rats!!!
  14. Hi I'm approved through Medicare, but I needed hip replacement. I had it on Dec 23 2013. So now I have to wait. Until March, which gives me way to much time to think about it. I'm 65 and I want to get on with my life too. It is a little scary when you're older!
