  1. Hi I was sleeved 1/6 Surgery weight 219. Current weight 183. Staying around 600-700 calories per/day. Still struggling to get 64 ounces liquid. Mostly drink decaf tea. Can't stomach plain water. So far everything I have tried for good sits well in the sleeve. Had Greek salad with grilled chicken last night. Was first salad tasted delicious and very filling.

    pre-op diet

My surgeon only required 2 days liquid only diet before surgery. I had surgery 1/6 and have lost 17 pounds since. Everything went great. No complications. I was 217 at my pre op and I'm only 5ft 1" so I was just at 40 bmi. My surgeon did not give me a number I had to be at for surgery.

    Can't do this anymore

I feel the same way. 12 days since surgery and my savior gas been the Dannon light and fit Greek blends. Very smooth and light with 12 grams of protein and good flavors like strawberry cheesecake and only 7 grams of sugar. Decaf tea seems to go down easy too and I tried low cal Gatorade for some fluid which I was able to tolerate well. Don't worry though your energy will get better every day. I was able to get quite a bit done around the house today.
  9. Try pb2. I bought some at walmart in the peanut butter section. It's powered peanut butter. You mix it with water and it's delicious just missing all the fat. Gnc also sells it.
  10. I have the mirena as well and have had it for 9 years. I had surgery last week with the Mirena in my surgeon said it was fine. And in the last 9 years I was able to lose weight on various diets I tried. I just always ended up gaining it all back plus some.
  11. Does anyone have any good homemade protein shake recipes? I am 6 days out and on full liquids, but all of the protein powders including unjury are making me feel sick just smelling them. The only thing I can get down right now is SF carnation instant breakfast with 1% milk. The Dannon light and fit yogurts are good too. Having a hard time getting in my protein already getting frustrated.

    January 2014 Sleevers

I had my surgery January 6th at tufts medical center in Boston MA. Everything has gone smooth so far. I came home from the hospital yesterday 1/8/14. I was 217 1/3 weighed in today 1/9 and I was 210.2. I have been very full. Today I had a carnation instant breakfast with 8 oz skim milk, a small decaf coffee with skim, and some diet cran grape juice for breakfast. Lunch time I had a Dannon light Greek cherry yogurt. That has 12 grams of protein. Dinner I had 1/2 c low fat cottage cheese (I couldn't quite finish it) I also sipped on 16 ounces of water with crystal light throughout the day. Tomorrow I will work on drinking more fluid. I did some walking today. Was shopping at Home Depot with my hubby. Feeling really good. The incision sights are sore, but I am taking my pain pills to it isn't too bad. I am not even tempted to eat anything I shouldn't have. I am 39 and have 3 kids 19, 12, and 9. My mother is staying with me and helping so I can rest and not have to cook for everyone just yet. So excited to start this journey. Now when it start getting smaller sizes I won't be too nervous to give away the big clothes. In fear I may need them again later.

    Well here goes nothin!

I am 2 days post op. Going home today. I was really nervous before, but it's over before you know it. So far everything is going great. I'm already switched to oxycodone in pill form for pain. It's not unbearable pain. My worst would be a 4, but most of the time 2-3. Really just a little stiff, but getting up and walking around makes me feel a lot better. Today I am being moved to stage 3 diet, so I can have full liquids and really soft food like yogurt.
