Hi All, I've been banded for 3 weeks already. I've been going to the gym for two weeks already. I go five days a week for one hour. I do the bicycle for 30 minutes, I walk for 15 minutes and I jog for 15 minutes with no problems. The problem is that if i try to run fast the part where i have the port starts hurting alot and i was wondering if that's going to be forever. I guess this question is for those who have been banded for a longer time than I have. I used to play soccer and I'm itching to start playing again. Any advice or comments will be gladly appreciated. Keep up the good work everyone....and losing weight.
  2. Hi Wendell, Thanks for the great advice. I have been taking pictures and I will continue to take them.
  3. OMG my first night banded was horrible. I usually sleep on my stomach but being a day old banded i didnt want to sleep on my stomach so i slept on my back and it was very difficult. I also felt short of breath. How were some of u were able to sleep the first few days? Any advice will be greatly appreciated.
  4.
Hi Everyone,

I'm back home already (5PM)! Surgery started at 10:50AM and I was out by 11:30AM. I'm not in any pain but i do feel very gassy. I feel like burbing but i cant. I dont like laying down due to the gas but I walk and sit down. I dont feel hungry but very thirsty.

Wow, I'm so happy I took the step.

I guess i have to welcome myself to the "club" LOL

Doctor told me to do liquids for today and tomorrow then i can do soft foods.

Look forward to sharing more of my story as days go by.

  5. I'm getting banded tomorrow morning. I'm so excited. Does anyone have an advice or comment?

  7. What are you thoughts on Design Whey? Or EAS?
  8. What are some of your favorite protein shakes that you drink? Does anyone use Slim-Fast High Protein shakes (powder or ready-to-drink)?
  9. Hi, I'm one week a way from getting banded and i have several questions in my head and your help is greatly appreciate it. 1- For how long do i need to stay on the liquid diet? 2- When can start eating pureed food? 3- What are some of the things that some of you drank during the liquid stage? 4- What kind of Protein shakes do your recommend (Slim-Fast, etc)? 5- While on the liquid stage, how often do you have to drink something so that you dont feel hungry? My surgery date is on 8/20 at Valley Hospital in Ridgewood, NJ.
