  1. Hello Everyone - I am two days away from being six weeks post up,(vertical sleeve) and things have gone really well so far! The weight is coming off at a normal pace and the incorporation of exercise feels great! Total life style change which takes some getting used too for sure. Especially breaking some of our old eating habits! I am having one issue however that I'm having trouble getting clarity on and I'm looking for some community feedback! My stomach is constantly busy! What I mean buy this is that it's always grumbling, growling and moaning... especially when I'm eating or drinking it's at it's worst! Also, my stomach has a mild to moderate sour feeling,(almost like a mild upset stomach) fairly regularly! In fact, the only time my stomach truly feels completely normal is when I wake up in the morning after sleeping for 6 -8 hours! However, once I begin to eat my morning Breakfast the growling and mild discomfort creeps back into play and kind of stays with me most of the day! It's seems as if the more and/or faster I eat the worst the growling and grumbling becomes! This has obviously lead me to believe that I'm eating too much too fast and I've been really concentrating on taking smaller bites, chewing better and most importantly waiting two to three minutes between bites! All this definitely has helped some but the mild sour, nausea feeling is still slightly present more than I'd like it to be! Has anyone else experienced this? Is this somewhat normal the first several weeks post up? any thoughts would be greatly appreciated!
  2. Hello All - I recently had my six week post op checkup and all is going very well,(Vertical Sleeve)! Doctor gave me the green light to begin eating just about anything with caution,(chew, chew, chew). Surprisingly, he also said it was ok to incorporate a cup of caffeinated coffee into my diet as well as I am a big fan of coffee! Quite honestly a good cop of coffee in the morning also really helps keep me regular! I was under the impression that caffeinated coffee/drinks were off limits until at least the three month mark because it can irritate the new stomach lining! Has anyone incorporated drinking coffee again at six weeks fairly regularly?? if so, any issues?? Thank you all for your thoughts...

    How bad is the nausea?

Hi - It's not awful but it is present most days and fairly tolerable! I find it to be more of a constant sour stomach kind of feeling as opposed to nausea! As each week goes by it gets a little better for me quite honestly,(I'm six weeks post op). I really do believe it's simply our new pouches trying to adjust and cope with it new way of life! No regrets here! losing weight at really nice pace and feeling really good these days! I truly believe the nausea will pass in time! Good luck and go for it...
  4. Six weeks post now and all is well however I'm still experiencing a fairly consistent sour stomach / mild nausea throughout the majority of most days...ESPECIALLY DURING AND AFTER EATING! It's somewhat tolerable but I hoping this will eventually go away and my stomach will feel more like normal. Is this normal? Has anyone else had this type of discomfort still at six weeks? Thank you...
