  1. I totally understand your frustration! I was in a similar situation but I had to make monthly doctor appts for 6 months. So I stayed at about the same weight, just fluctuating up and down. Just try and play their game and you will get through it.
  2. Congrats, glad to hear surgery went well! Rest, sip and walk
  3. I have had my Flex since August and I love it! About a couple of months ago I was getting a little skin irritation and switched wrists. I also stopped wearing when I showered and that helped. I have since switched back to my left wrist (non-dominate) and no longer have skin irritation. So I believe that moisture was the problem even though you are able to get the band wet. My daughter and I got ours at the same time, she took the small bands and I the large. But now I am ready to switch to the small so I am going to order some in different colors to change up the look occasionally
  4. I had been using MyFitnessPal prior to getting my Fitbit and for a while I tracked food on MyFitnessPal and synced also but it got to be a hassle using two different apps so I migrated everything to Fitbit and use that exclusively. I love my fitbit; but I track my food in My Fitness Pal, which syncs with my fitbit. Much better database of foods. Sent from my DROID RAZR using VST
  5. Fitbit won't auto sync with all phones. It doesn't with my Galaxy Note 1 but I have the app on my phone and when I am home my phone and Fitbit will sync when I'm near the wireless dongle. Nice to have the phone app so I can log my food when I'm not at home.
  6. That's good to hear! I was banded 12/18/13 and still can't bend over on my left side. Feels like I have a huge blob in abdomen and I am too afraid to push myself to bend. Maybe still swelling - I HOPE!
  7. I bought myself a digital scale and I have been trying to measure everything. It has been very helpful since I now see that I had been eating more than I thought. This also helps when I record my food on the Fitbit website. Every person is different and your doctor/nutritionist will tell you how many calories you should be eating. My nutritionist called me a few days ago to check on me and I asked her how much I should be eating in a day. I am to stay between 800 and 1000 calories a day and 60-80 grams of Protein. So measure and weigh all your food so you know exactly how much you are eating.
  8. Love this! Thanks for sharing and the reminder!
  9. I was banded on Dec 9 and I am still a little tender in that area, particularly if I bend over and my waistband is in the way. I had my first fill Dec 30 and I bruised from it so that probably isn't helping either. My other incision sites are finally feeling normal. It takes time so as long as the area isn't unusually warm or red then you are probably ok.
  10. Like everyone else has said it could be the aftereffects of surgery, gas and your body's reaction to being banded. Just to make sure everything is ok, I would definitely call your doctor tomorrow. It's probably normal but it doesn't hurt to ask, they want to be sure that everything is good also. Let us know. Hope you are feeling better today.
  11. Wow, glad that the doctor was able to repair what was needed and put a new band in for you. Take it easy as you recover from surgery and get back on your feet again.
  12. Unfortunately, insurance companies seem to be only concerned with the bottom line, your BMI number. They penalize you for being over a certain BMI with higher premiums but yet won't pay for surgery because your BMI isn't high enough. Makes no sense. I was in the same situation and it took over a year to get my surgery approved. They should be looking at your overall health and not just the numbers.
  13. Glad to hear all is well! Each day will be better than the day before. Keep sipping and walking
  14. Well you are in surgery now, but good luck to you. Welcome to the ranks ! Let us know how you are doing.
  15. Good luck tomorrow! It's one day at a time and the first couple you will be tired and sore from the surgery. But make sure to ask questions and follow your discharge instructions. Let us know how you are doing when you get home. Today is 4 weeks post surgery and I am feeling great!
  16. Congrats! Enjoy that little bundle of joy!!!
  17. Good luck to you in surgery tomorrow.
  18. Glad to hear that all went well. Every day you will feel a little better, walking will help to relieve the gas too. Get some rest, your body has been through a lot.
  19. I use Fitbit, used to be on MyFitnessPal but switched over when I bought a Fitbit in August. Would love to connect with others, here is my profile page or PM me to connect. www.fitbit.com/user/27G75P
  20. I am thinking of starting a Whole30 challenge again. I did it last summer prior to surgery with great results. This is the plan that my daughter and I used. http://journal.crossfit.com/2004/05/zone-meal-plans-crossfit-journ.tpl
  21. This is the plan we followed http://journal.crossfit.com/2004/05/zone-meal-plans-crossfit-journ.tpl
  22. I have done Whole30 prior to my band last summer. I am ready to do another round.
  23. Sounds like you are on the right track. This is not an easy journey for sure but will be a lifetime of vigilance. Let us know how your appointment goes on Tuesday.
  24. I do have some Miralax, my doctor recommended that when I called the clinic after about a week and a half. Just need to figure out how often to take it and find a routine that works. I try to eat mostly natural foods and avoid processed foods. Now that I am passed the liquid stage I can resume avoiding sweeteners and gluten, go back to my clean diet. That should help also. Might be time to start a Whole30 challenge again
