  1. Feel like my decision to go through with this was a big personal decision. I haven't had any issues telling my friends that are girls but I have trouble telling the guys. Idk if it's because is think they'll take it the wrong way or idk. Have you guys had the same struggles? Also, I've been dating a few guys pre-op, and I lied and said I was getting my gall bladder out, which I know lying is wrong, but I'm going to be losing weight fast now and I'll need to tell these guys the truth. Help!
  2. Hey all, so I am now 3 weeks out from surgery and everything has been going well except for this one thing. I have been experiencing bad dreams and nightmares about food. I've had 3 different dreams on 3 different nights. It's actually starting to effect me though. I don't want to eat now because I'm worried about my stomach. Is this normal? Has anyone else had this happen?

    Help! Post-op nightmares about food

That sounds like exactly what happened to me. I accidentally ate corn on the cob, Oreos and French fries in my dream. I'm not pushing boundaries or anything, but I'm still struggling with eating enough calories and protein every day.
  4. Had no issue with them pre-op, but now I can't stand them. I have no issue with milk or water. This has been the first trouble food I've had. I've tried 2 different kinds and I'm waiting for my syntrax nectar to show up. I'm worried about getting 60g of protein in daily now. I'm 4 days post-op, so my choices are very limited.
  5. I found the one! Syntrax Nectar Lattes: Cappuccino. I put it on ice and it's just like an iced coffee. I still need a kid to cover the smell but I can stomach it.

    Help! Post-op nightmares about food

I've had no issues tolerating food as my diet advanced, no puking or dumping. Idk what is happening.

Which artificial sweetener do you prefer?

If you take frequent trips to the bathroom use stevia instead of Splenda, for some reason it can cause that in some people where you urinate more frequently.
  8. Like, I never heard of it, and I'm 100% not pregnant, but I smell certain foods and I feel nauseous and very sick. The weirdest thing is that it's food I used to love to eat. Don't get me wrong, I love that I'm not craving the bad foods anymore, but it caught me off guard. Has this happened to anyone else?
  9. Hello everyone. I'm new to this forum and I haven't really had a chance to look around on here, but thankfully my fellow bariatric roommate told me about the great support she's gotten on here. I started out this whole journey in January, that's when I went to my first meeting and decided that this was the right choice for me. I weighed around 315 and I was miserable. I was borderline diabetic, had chronic back pain, and was just uncomfortable in my own skin. I went through everything I needed to and was all set to schedule my surgery in July, but unfortunately I had some insurance issues (my insurance ends June 30 and begins again in October 1) so I had to start up again in October and prove I still wanted to do this to the obesity clinic. I dropped my weight to 260 during the year, which was so hard to do but I was extremely determined. Finally I was scheduled for surgery December 10th. I had no issues and apparently my doctor told my family I had perfect anatomy and it was a very easy and smooth surgery. I am now 4 days out and I am on my full liquid diet. I haven't had any issues tolerating anything, which is great. Do any of you have creative ways to get Protein in though? I only got 32 yesterday, so I need to double it without hurting my pouch by taking in too much. Is there anything I should watch out for? Any advice for newbies?
  10. I'm only 4 days out, so it's a relief I'm not alone with that lol
  11. I'll have to look into the isopure, I've heard they are good. They don't taste weird, do they?

    Powered Peanut Butter!

Peanut butter has always been my #1 favorite thing. I'll have to check it out, Ty!

    Pouch

I know how you feel! I'm 4 days out and I want to rediscover what I like and don't like. It's exciting and nerve wracking for me lol
  14. Maybe it's all psychological *shrug*
  15. Milk hasn't bothered me, I can tolerate mixing carnation instant breakfast in milk just fine. I'm thinking of only using half a scoop of protein next time. It was the consistency and the smell. I can have Greek yogurt but no cottage cheese (which I would love to have).

    Getting pissed

The day I got back from surgery my dad asked everyone who wanted subway, I was so mad about it because he knew I couldn't. It's something I'll need to learn to accept that others aren't on these restrictions, and I'm bettering myself so it's for the greater good.
  17. It's wondering. Also, anything you recommend that could help me move along and is gentle? I'm 5 days out of surgery, so I still have time, but when that time gets here I'd like to be prepared. -TK
