The blood work is not the reason I have to go back to my regular diet. They told me because of the surgery being pushed back they want me to increase my calories so that when my liver will shrink like its supposed to. They are worried that it will get "fat" if I am on the liquid diet for too long. I don't know but I am kind of glad they told me this. Now that I am eating "real" food I find that I really didn't miss it that much.
I was scheduled for surgery on the 29th but because of my blood work it had to be pushed back to Feb 10th. I'm not upset about this because my birthday is the 13th and this is my gift to myself. The problem that I do have is that I already started my liquid diet on Saturday. I now have to go back to eating regular food and restart the liquid diet on Monday.
Yes they increased them about a week ago but the levels were 7x higher than normal. I am just praying that it works out I don't want to wait another couple weeks.
Congrats on getting a date skinny_minnie
Well I got my 2 week high protein/liquid diet but the surgery might be pushed back because of my thyroid levels being off the chart. However they have me back on the meds and will recheck me next week. As long as the levels are coming down they will do the surgery but if no change it could be another 6 weeks. I am praying that the meds kick in.
I have my pre op test tomorrow. This month has gone by so quickly with all the appointments. The 29th is right around the corner. I also start my liquid diet tomorrow!!
I am going to be having surgery on the 29th. I am trying to prepare my 5 year old son for me not being home with him for a couple days. I told him today that I would be staying in the hospital and he said that he wanted to go too. Part of me wants him there but I don't want to add the stress on my parents and husband either.
