    Diabetes

My diabetes was pretty controlled prior to surgery so I got to leave the hospital without my meds. I had to monitor my sugar 4x a day for about 2 weeks to make sure everything was fine. Now I check my blood sugar every morning and it is never over 75.
  2. One month ago I was arriving at the hospital..nervous, scared, and anxious were just a few of the emotions I felt that day. Surprisingly, the recovery hasn't been near as bad as I was expecting it to be. I have had a pretty easy recovery and for that I am extremely thankful. I weighed this morning and I am down 33 pounds. I am very pleased with my sleeve! Its only been a month but I feel wonderful!! I'm not even considered a diabetic anymore!! This surgery is a lifesaver and I could not be happier!

    Anyone from Oxforf, MS?

Hi! I do not live in Oxford any longer but I did for a few years while I attended Ole Miss. I am now living in Jackson. I just turned 24 and was sleeved on December 17 in Tupelo. I also had type 2 diabetes..I say had because I got to leave the hospital without my diabetes meds. I was really nervous about having the sleeve done but it was not nearly as bad as I thought it would be. The anxiety beforehand and the gas pains are the worst parts. I can already tell a HUGE difference in my appearance in my short 2 weeks since surgery. This surgery has been such a blessing already! If you have any questions that I can help you with just let me know
