  1. Not sure if it will help, but on my pre-op we were allowed 1 Metamucil capsule per day for hunger if needed.
  2. And the pre-op diet really helps you get ready for the post-op diet. I think I would have suffered more if I had been eating all out and then forced to limited liquids..
  3. I would say your urges at night are head games. You know what is right and what is wrong, no one needs to tell you. I have heard that sweets create urges for more sweets.... I would suggest you change your evening routine up somehow.
  4. So sorry to hear about your husband JewelJ, it must be very hard on you and your children. You seem to have picked an amazing compassionate surgeon, you are blessed. I wish you and yours all the best and I will be thinking of you next week...
  5. I don't think I would have had time to listen to any music, I remember lying on the table, arms outstretched, closing my eyes.. and then I was waking up in my room...looking for ice chips because my mouth was dry, and forcing myself to get up and walk..
  6. Good luck to you too Sally...sounds like you are ready to go...
  7. Congratulations..you go girl!
  8. I was nervous too, and thought I was crazy for what I was going to do. But I had done my research and was confident it was the right choice for me. It turns out I was one of the lucky ones and have had no discomfort at all. Had surgery on a Friday and was back at work the following Wednesday. I am almost 2 weeks post-op and tolerating everything that I am allowed so far.
  9. For me it was 4 days post op, I had the 5 incisions. Everyone is different, but I figured if it didn't hurt, it was ok for me.
  10. Kookichu, I did try the fitbit last year and did return it. I was hoping that it would give better results on my sleep habits, but unless you moved it figured you were asleep...I find there are better apps for your smartphone, just as I am sure there are probably some people that will swear by the fitbit...
  11. teacherlady, derailments is what has gotten us all to this point, the surgery will give you the tools you need to regain control with out spiraling so far that you feel all is lost...
  12. I play but I refuse to spend any money. Some levels take me weeks, but I refuse to pay. Paying for extras can be addicting...
  13. The pre-op diet is intended to prepare you for the surgery and the post-op diet. My surgeon said he could tell that I had followed the pre-op diet because my insides were "well prepared". I also think that the pre-op diet has made it easier for me this past week, I haven't been overly hungry and have been satiated with my intake levels. and yes the fear of bursting my stomach staples really helps me too!
  14. Congratulations and good luck...it will be worth it.
  15. When I had my surgery, there was a gentleman down the hall who had visitors come in and bring peperoni pizza. He thought he could chew a piece of peperoni...he didn't do very well. The rules are there for a reason, at least follow the first month of post op diet before experimenting...
  16. I was sleeved Jan 17, today is only my second day off of Clear Liquids. I have lost 13.4 pounds since surgery. I can also eat 8oz of Soup and it will take me 45 minutes as well. It was suggested to me to stop at 30 minutes. That is what I have been doing and getting rid of the "leftovers" so I don't think about them. I think part of it is the old brain trick of having to clean your plate.
  17. Pharmacies, or online..
  18. I was under the impression that you had to have a higher BMI and there was a long wait and other hoops...
  19. I have narrowed it down to 2 places, WLSC and MBC, both in Tijuana.... DR Kelly, or DR Cabrera
  20. HI, I am also from Alberta, and I am considering the Mexico option. Have you made any decisions?
