  1. I had back problem for yrs.... Doctor after doctor telling me nothing....... Until one day my lower half went numb...... I was taken into surgery 2 hrs after going to ER. When I woke up mind u it was Xmas eve 200am, the neuro surgeon was sitting next to me....... He knew when I woke up mylife would be change forever so he wanted to tell me himself..... He thought I was going to wake up paralyzed from waist down...... He said the jelly has been leaking out slowly out of my discs which was strangling my nerves... If ur looking for good news out of this is that I can walk but I'm 100% numbed from waist down and now I'm I self cath myself to go to washroom.... This journey has been a rough one... When the doctor suggested the sleeve... He told me less weight will help with my pain so I had the surgery 11/20/13 and it's been great.. I'm done 22lbs......... But my issue that I'm trying to deal with is that I have no feeling ever need to go to washroom and now I have no feeling of hunger either..... Don't know how to deal with this except I'm thankful I walk
  2. Lol..... Sorry to laugh........ Yes u will be able to eat real good again.... It's just healthy ways to eating........ Protein will always be in our diet but as time passes u can add different foods in ur diet.......
  3. I have told everyone...... I told them my doctor recommended this surgery to help with my other medical problems..... When they hear the doctor recommended it and not that I just wanted it.. It seems to stop a lot of the questions........... Good luck with ur choice

  6. I got a patch behind my ear before surgery
  7. Chap stick and a pillow for way home..... It helps with the bumps.... Put it on ur stomach and put pressure.......

  10. Yes I'm in the same boat.... I was sleeved on 11/20 and it's been great..... But my family acts like I'm dying at times....... Their more scared that I will hurt myself then I am.... The other thing the worry about is my eating..... They ask are u eating enough? Are u feeling ok after eating that? How is the gas? I wish sometimes they would shut up..... But I do love them and I know they care
  11. Girl I had a good night sleep and still cried...... She made me realize something I never realized before......... If was a very intense visit....... Remember ur never alone....
  12. Great... Was sleeved on 11/20... Pain only first day..... Some gas but the minute I burped it was gone.... I'm down 22lbs since surgery...... This was bring great for me....... At first if was hard cooking for the family and not being able to eat it..... But lately even that is getting easier....... I hope u have a good recovery too..........
  13. I ate an Italian fest......... My doctor said since I did good in my 2 week preop so he said it was ok but then fast 12 hrs before the surgery...........
  14. Do u have ur morning all planned out................. One thing I can tell u is to bring loose clothes for way home.... U don't want Nothing that will be tight on ur stomach..... Second is I had a pillow for way home just in case of pain, u can use the pillow on ur belly and put pressure it helps with pain for the bumps on way home...
  15. 8 days out I felt great........... So I would say play it by ear..........
  16. Woot woot........ How exciting....... I'm sure ur going through a lot of emotions right now...... Take a breath............ I had mine on 11/20 and no problems down 22lbs......
  17. I'm 10 days out and that normal as swelling goes down..............
  18. I can say for me it was reality once I had the sleeve........ I had surgery 11/20 lost 20lbs so far........

  20. Lately all I see are people with issues.... I'm glad u been good....... I was sleeved on 11/20 barely any pain........ Liquids been good.......... Soft foods so far so good..... I haven't had any problems......... My incisions are looking good.... Tape already off.......... I was starting to think why am I doing so good and others are having it hard....
  21. Ur a strong women.... U can do this....... Plus we're all here with u in thought...........
  22. We all have that problem.... We have fat brains................. Isn't that the reason they have u doing these 6 months........ So they can see that u try but u need a little help...(sleeve).... Don't give up.
  23. This is a great choice to make........ And with ur other health problems this surgery is going to help u............ Sometimes people can't understand the surgery because they really don't understand what were carrying around everyday.................... Keep ur eyes on the prize........... Maybe have ur husband read some of the good stories on here
  24. I was told no more soda forever.... It's not good for sleeved patients....... Our stomachs are to small
