  1. How long did it take for the gas to subside?
  2. I'm on day 2 post op. I'm very uncomfortable. I ended up needing a surprise hernia surgery as well as the lap band. The incisions really hurt. And the gas as well. But I'm so excited to start my journey with weight loss. I can start mushies on Sunday. One new mushy a day.
  3. Officially banded as of yesterday. The nausea was terrible from the anesthesia. But thankfully that subsided. I have pain where the incisions were made and I feel it as I breathe, time heals all wounds right
  4. I'm banded. The worst part so far was the nausea from the anesthesia. And discomfort from the surgery. I'm sure ill heal all in good time. Thanks for the support.
  5. Thanks everyone. Today's the big day. Ahhhhh. 4 more hours!
  6. Hi. I'm referencing to couch to 5k as I'm being banded tomorrow. I did that program and it was amazing. But it's not a weight loss program. A lot of people said that they lost inches but not pounds. I got up 25 minutes and right before 30 I became pregnant and didn't continue. I can't wait up start the program again. It felt so good. Hope you get your questions answered.
  7. Love to hear all your stories. So inspiring.
  8. I'm tomorrow. I'm nervous. I want to get it over with ASAP
  9. I'm getting my surgery tomorrow. Your an inspiration. I keep looking at your before and after. Gorgeous.
  10. Thanks!!! I have two kids too. 2 1/2 and 7 months.
  11. Hi Everyone. My time has come. My surgery is tomorrow Jan 22. I'm sooooo nervous. I'm not nervous about the surgery so much. I'm nervous about the life changes in my near future. I'm nervous not knowing what I'll be able to eat. I'm nervous about getting stuck. I'm nervous learning how to eat properly. Please all you vets tell me why I'm doing this. Give me words or wisdom and confidence. Ps I have a goal of losing 80 pounds. And I would love to make that happen within the first year.
  12. Congrats to all the jan bandsters. It's all becoming so real. Jan 22 is right around the corner. So many emotions!!
  13. You look awesome!!
  14. Who else's big day is jan 22? I'm so excited but so nervous. I have so many emotions. My b day is jan 17 and I feel like this is my year to get healthy and lose the weight. How are all of you feeling?
  15. Does breast get stuck for everyone? Are you able to eat sushi?
  16. Happy New Year everyone. Today I started on weight watchers to try and lose some weight before the surgery. We don't do the liquid pre op diet here in Israel. Jan 22 is right around the corner. I'm also super excited and nervous. I feel that I'm really dedicating 2014 to eating right and losing the weight. I would love to be at my goal weight a year from now. How's everyone else feeling?
  17. As I do appreciate all of your knowledge it was not my intention to start a heated debate. I think regardless of which wls I choose or anyone for that matter we should be supportive of one another. That's what these forums are all about right? All we can do in life is try and make the best decisions for ourselves.
  18. I really really appreciate all of your comments. I find them so helpful and informative. Thank you for taking the time out of your day to share your profound thoughts. I feel that I've made my final decisions and I'm going to with the lap band. I have my surgery jan 22. Wish me luck!
  19. Why did all of you decide to go w the band instead of the other surgeries?
  20. Thank you everyone for your opinions and information. For me I feel like the sleeve would be easier but the band will be more of a life commitment to staying healthy. It's scary to think of thinking of foods I love disagreeing with me but its also scary to have part of my stomach cut off. I've also read that surgery is much more risky then the band. And I also like that the band is reversible/removable. I'm mixed but I think that I will go with the band. Sorry if I'm ranting. Just writing my thoughts. It's so hard to know which will be right for me.
  21. Thanks. I totally agree with what everyone said. I have my surgery set for jan 22.
