The insurance was giving me trouble, saying we had to notify them 6 months inadvance of the surgery, so the office corrdinator and I called everyday with evidence that no one ever stated that when we initially verified coverage, adn that it is not on my plan website. and magically on Friday they called the dr and said they were "taking the verbage out" whatever, it was never there to begin with, because no one we talked to could find it, except the case worker. so Friday they finally were reviewing it, and i just called and I was approved. I am so excited less than a month, I am tentatively scheduled for 6/9, but if they get the letter soon enough, i will go 6/3. I have my preop classes this thursday and next thursday.....nervous and excited all at the same time!!!

I have not had one person tell me that this is a bad idea, or that I am taking the "easy" way out, I was prepared for it.... Everyone has been so supportive and excited for me, I am amazed by the amount of love I am surrounded with.

Thankfully I won't have to worry about cleaning or anything, my parents moved in with me after they retired, so I have plenty of help at home, that is one less worry

I totally understand, I just had a setback in my journey, but I am not going to let that stop me, and you shouldn't let this get you down we will both get past our obstacles

My doctor's office called and said they have the verbal approval yesterday, and we scheduled my tenative surgery date for 6/9. They won't firm it up until they get the letter. So i called the Insurance to find out when they would be sending the letter out, and if I could get it faxed to me. They girl i talked to showed it was still pending. So i called the dr's office and left a message that i was confused. I get a message back today that they are now saying I need to notify them 6 months before Surgery to get approved, not that I have to have a medically supervised weight loss, just that I need to notify them 6 months in advance!!!!! Now, I called and checked my benefits, and the Dr also called and verified benefits, and was never told any of this, and I went on my plan website and logged in as me, and you can see below that it states nothing about a 6 month noitfication!!!! I am so Frustrated, it has been 6 months of gettting all my appointments in and getting everything ready. The coordinator at my Dr office is not giving up on pushing this through, and neither am I we are both going to call the insurance tomorrow again.....I am just to irritated, I just needed to vent!!! I know there is a thread about what to take to the hospital, but is there a thread of what to have on hand at home? if not any advice would be appreciated Thanks

I am tentitively scheduled for June 9th, but if they get the letter soon enough they can do me on June 3rd. its going really fast. I have 2 classes to take may 15 and 22.

I guess I am more anxious, because the dr said he was not going to make me wait as soon as I get approval, I will be having surgery within 3 weeks. Any only that long, because I have to take 2 pre surgical classes.

I'm hoping it's quick my bmi is way over 40 so that shouldn't be a factor.....but I'm nervous they will deny it

My surgeons office is submitting my paperwork today....hopefully UHC will give approval fast

I just finished my last consultation appointment, the Psychologist said she would have everything to the center within 2 weeks, so now it is just a waiting game for the insurance..... I am so ready to start living the new life I want to badly.

I went to my seminar on Saturday, I dropped off my paperwork with the doctors office today, I have my psych appointment on Thursday, I am trying to get ahead of the game, because my insurance does not require the 6 month dr supervised weightloss program, i am hoping the approval process goes fast. I am calling the dr to schedule my appointment tomorrow. I am so nervous, but i know this is the right thing to do for me.
