Do you have to do a bowel prep?? My surgery is Monday, they said they'd call on Friday. But I can only have liquids and my laxative on Sunday:-( yuk. Good luck to you, I hope to hear how great we are all feeling next weekend!

Hmj- when is your surgery??

I have shed alot of tears this week! My skinny hubby is always eating and so is my son. Of course I have to clean everything up. Not fun. Only a few more days now.

Thanks Alex. Today was day 5, and it was okay. No tears today:-) I know your nervous, but it's all just another step. I think God tests us to see if we are strong enough. I thought waiting to hear from the insurance was hard, even though it was a covered benefit. But I called them every week, they kept me informed. Once it was submitted properly it only took 2 days to approve. We are all nervous together. I know I can't wait to hear how all my new friends are doing after surgery!! I have a wonderful family, but this forum has become invaluable to me!

Jessie- 64 oz. of water. That includes protein shakes. What is your bowel prep? I just have to drink the stuff the morning before and then no protein shakes. I hope we can look back in a year and say it was SO worth it... And we are full :-)

Jessie, I am with you... I had to fast this morning, I mean skip my delicious shake, to have blood work done again. On the way home I would have traded my car for a cheeseburger! I'm hungry darn it! Is this how we will feel after surgery?? I don't want to spend my life dreaming about food. Will we ever feel satisfied again? I'm not changing my mind, but my surgery is the 20th and I wonder if I'll make it!

Day 3 on peop liquid diet.....wasn't as bad as day two. This is hard.... I feel light headed all the time. On the plus side I have been sleeping well.

Where are you having your surgery? Mine is at York hospital in PA. I don't know if this screen is another hurdle, or something to worry about. My surgeon didn't seem to think it was serious, but the vein doctor did. God brought me on this journey, so it's in his hands. I have to remember that! I'm on day 3 of my liquid diet, so it's hard to keep my confidence up :-/

Thank you everyone! You guys are so supportive. I am so glad I found this site. My husband is wonderful, but he eats everything in sight and never gains an ounce, so it's hard for him to get it. I'm hoping day 3 will be better. Prayers for us all!

Hi, I just met with the vein Doctor today. He is putting on in right before my surgery. My surgery is jan 20 th. He said I have to stay on Coumadin for 3 months. After about a year, they will remove it. When did/do you get yours. My doctor said most surgeons don't like them, but both my surgeons want it done, so I trust them. It's a little scary.

Today's pre op has been so hard! This is only day 2. Please, someone tell me it gets easier. I am so sick and irritable, I want to throw my husband out the door:-(

I stared my diet yesterday. Today is much harder, I hope it gets better. 10 days and counting! Sunday I have to do my bowel prep, so clear liquid only. I hope this week goes fast! Good luck everyone. Take it one day at a time!

Thanks Alex. How are doing with your diet? Big lamb, my NUT has me on Bariatric Advantage Protein shakes. I drink 5 a day. They are 160 calories each. They taste awful!! I can hardly finish them. I asked if I could just drink my own shakes that I had been using (pure protein from target) she said if I did I would have to take ALOT of supplements with it. I need to have the supplements to get my body ready to handle the surgery. So........I just gag and drink it anyway :-( I hope this helps. Can you ask your Dr or NUT to help with a diet? Day 2 here I come.......
