  10. Hi, I timed mine over Christmas break and had almost 1 month off but if you are younger than me - I am 46 you could really do it over a shorter break, just depends upon how motivated you are and .....if there are no complications, I didn't have any. Best Wishes
  11. still in a bit of a stall - finally down a lb today - hope it continues - discouraging HW 260 SW 260 CW 233
  12. Moma Spike, Will be very interested in the theanine results, please do update. I was sleeved on December 17th after finishing exams on the 12th. I am due to go back on January 13th and I am really not quite feeling up to it yet. I am in a Physician's Assistant program and will have 24 credits (8 classes) this semester. I am in a family practice office 1 day a week, a classroom 4 days a week and I work as an ER nurse for 8 hours on the weekends, I need all the help I can get right now. Will let you know how it goes.
  13. Been in a bit of a stall this week, actually went up 2 lbs but today I am down that 2 +1, hopefully things will start moving again now. HW 260 SW 260 CW 234 GW 150
  14. That is an awesome story! I could see me doing the same a year from now hopefully. Sorry you may have lost a client, people never cease to amaze me with their sensitivities.
  15. That is so great - keep up the good work!
  16. HW 260 SW 260 CW 235 I think I am beginning a stall - I had been warned and knew it was coming but it was a bummer to see the scale not move - this too shall pass and I feel better with 25lbs gone
  17. Happy New Year and best of luck to you and your husband!
  18. Hi, If I had a foley - it was in and out during surgery because I have no memory of it. I did have a Jackson-Pratt drain. It wasn't bad at first and drained a lot so I was grateful as it speeds healing and reduces swelling. With that said, the last few days I had it, the draining stopped and it leaked a bunch at the entrance site - actually it leaked around it the entire time I had it. Overall it was a good thing but I believe I had mine a few days too long - got it out the day after Christmas (holiday effect). Today I am 2 weeks out and my abdomen is completely healed, for that I am very thankful. Each surgeon has his own preferences and there are many people who did not have them and they did just fine as well.
  19. Hi - I have been going through the same thing myself - I am finding that making smoothies with Fage 0% yogurt helpful - has 28gm Protein per cup. Today I added 1/2 cup to an EAS shake with some frozen fruit, ice and a little SF sweetener 31 gm of protein and made my whole day. I have also used the GNC isopure drinks - since surgery I have had to dilute them a bit with Water and some of the flavors I can't tolerate. Hang in there this will pass!
  20. I don't think you are slow at all - 6 days difference and I have had a few days where I really struggled to get anything in. I know what you mean about micro-managing what others eat, I have been sort of doing that to my husband, he did the pre-op diet with me and has really cut out a lot of carbs but I need not preach at him so I really have to try hard not to do so.

Amen - they are a pain in the back (well actually lots of places) but my husband seems attached.
  22. Hi All, I am newly sleeved and finally starting to feel better and see some results - a very happy day for me indeed! Anyway, I was wondering if people could recommend good WLS - VSG books and cookbooks - I actually have a bit of spare time at the moment and would love to read something encouraging and have some plans for when I can start adding real foods and how to do that. Thanks in advance, Tammie
