Pasta?!
Carol Quabeck Boyer replied to Carol Quabeck Boyer's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&AI thought it was strange also, that's why I asked. It just says Boiled Pasta. My family is having Baked Ziti tonight and I was going to try a few bites. I'm conflicted I understand the reasons you were talking about Pdx! Thanks!

OK....how did you know.....
I feel like I eat slow enough but everytime I eat I feel like the food is sitting in my chest. I have to walk to make myself feel better. I'm not sure what it is....maybe I'm not eating slow enough, but I know I definitely chew enough times...lol!

December 2013 Sleevers Come In!
I am a fellow 12/19 sleever! I haven't had any pain from my incisions, but I do have an comfortableness in my back on the lower left side. Nothing major, but I do notice it when I cough or sneeze! I went for my first follow up yesterday and my Dr was extremely happy with me an my progress. I am down 20 lbs since the day of surgery. I am not able to drink pain water, but she said that is OK as long as I am getting at least 48 oz of liquid in so I have been staying with diluted with powerade. She also told me that I should be eating about every 4 hours, which is hard for me cause I am never hungry. Overall, I am happy with my journey so far. Thank you all so much for all of your support!

December 2013 Sleevers Come In!
----Hi Care1175: Thank you for your concern and I did fear I would have to make another visit to the ER .. I was there almost 2 weeks ago for dehydration After trying the magnesium citrate per my PA and increasing fluids and walking around things seem To be moving for me a tiny bit better --- still painful to push it out and there is still more inside that needs to come out but I would say I'm getting a bit better and not worse so I'll hold off on the ER and pray I won't need to go My belly was a bit bloated but I attributed that to the increase in fluids my doc office is forcing me to get in to combat the constipation I'll see how things go but boy oh boy constipation is very very serious; wouldn't wish it on anyone Walking really does help!

I hope this gets easier
I am 13 days post op and STILL not feeling myself. I have no energy or will to do anything. My husband says I don't smile anymore. Not sure what the problem is. Physically I feel OK, besides being tired all the time. It is hard for me to get all my liquids in....it seems by belly just isn't liking anything I have to offer. I am on phase 2, which is soft/pureed but I am still eating my cream Soups, Popsicles, pudding and yogurt. i wasn't able to stomach any of the Protein shakes either until I had a Boost strawberry Extra Protein. I think that has been my savior! I too hope things start to get easier. I miss the old me!!!!

How bad is the nausea?
I had HORRIBLE nausea! When I first woke up from surgery I had massive gas pain. With the help of Gas ex, that went away. The nausea was another story. It was constant. The zofran didn't work for me either. It didn't help when i tried to get some Water down. All I can say is...it dies get better!

Does anyone regret this surgery?
Hi! I am 10 days post op and I have to say that I have had some regrets. I don't feel as good as some people have claimed they do at this point. food was such an "activity" in my life. My family and I went to Breakfast, lunch...out to dinner....I miss that. I am not hungry at all, but I just miss the how food brought us together. I feel so left out now. Besides that, I don't have interest in doing much of anything. I know I am not getting enough Protein, or Water for that matter which I am sure is contributing to feeling so crappy. Is this feeling ever going to go away?

Terrified and having second thoughts - Surgery is in 48 hours : - (
clmftw - I am having surgery on the 19th too! Sheldon - I have many of the same fears you do, but I am 100% sure that this is something that I want to do. The only thing I can say is BE SURE! If you aren't, take some time and put surgery on hold. You can always revisit it later. I have told EVERYONE about my surgery. I am so excited about it, and I have had some, "Why would you do that?" but NEVER has anyone said (to my face anyway) that surgery is the easy way out. Once you educated people on the process, they get it! I hope you come to a decision that you are comfortable with!! Carol

December 2013 Sleevers Come In!
Hi everyone! I am one week away (Dec 19th) from surgery. Looking at our list, I am still on my own! I have to say that I am not at all nervous about the actual surgery, but how I will feel immediately after. I think nausea is THE worst feeling in the world. I also have been known to end up back in the hospital after surgeries with severe dehydration. I already know that I will be in the hospital at least 2 days, so that makes me feel a little better, also, my husband will be staying with me to motivate me to walk, cough and deep breathe. I did purchase a night gown since I don't normally wear one and was told I would be more comfortable without an elastic waist band. But, I am wondering if I should just stay in the hospital gown? Did anyone wear their own? and if so, did they get soiled?
