    April 2015 Surgery

Who is having surgery April 2015? I have created a facebook for April 2015 so that we can go through this together. I created this for my husband who is having surgery in April. I personally had mine back in 2013, and with the help of my facebook group a friend created for us December 2013 sleevers, I was able to succeed in losing the weight. It was a great tool for me to have when I was, and still am going through this. If interested let me know. It is a secret closed group, so others on your facebook will not be able to see it. You will have to friend me, or give me your email so that I can add you. http://www.facebook.com/DaniSigns?fref=browse_search

  3. Hello Everyone I am very new to this site, but already love it. I feel like I am among friends here. I have started the process of going having the sleeve surgery. I do not have an surgery date yet; waiting on insurance. My husband and I were talking today about life after the surgery. I have decided to keep my surgery, not necessarily a secret, but more like a select amount of people will know that I had it done. We have noticed some patients lose weight rather quickly...so what will people think about my rapid weight loss. I have been overweight for about 7 years because of many spine operations, so being overweight right now is a given. But, I do not want people to look at me as if I am doing something illegal, or that I am sick because I am losing weight too quickly. Maybe my question is weird, but I just want to know if any of you have experienced this situation. What do you tell people if they ask? I am not ashamed at what I am doing, and looking forward to having the surgery done. My spine needs some relief from the extra weight. I just come from a very nosey family, and gossip spreads rather quickly. Thank you in advance for all of your comments and suggestions. Danielle

When people ask "How did you lose weight?"

"The easy way out..." That is what I fear people are going to say. I worry that people will give me grief about it. I don't feel it is the easy way out, because it's been a very hard struggle to lose the weight. I'm confident in my decision to do the surgery, just in the back of my mind I have the little worry people will judge me. Then again if they judge me then I really don't need them around anyway.

    Important pre-surgery questions to ask

I asked the same question. My doctor is a Lap-Band patient! It was great to talk to someone who has actually gone through a WLS.

    not pregnant but wanting advice.

Savannah...my heart broke when I read your doctor said it was unethical to put you on fertility meds!! I would find a new dr. Do not let him stop you from wanting a child. I'm in the same boat as you are. I've had four spine operations that made me overweight. It's hard to have a baby because of it. I've tried clinic and no success. I'm healthy minus the weight. My doctors are all for the sleeve and are very optimistic about pregnancy after the sleeve. Don't give up on your dreams sweetie...get a new dr !
