  1. Best of luck to you! My surgery went well and I'm in the recovery room. First day of the rest of my life!
  2. Omg! Tina you have an awesome success story!!! I agree with everything you said about wishing you'd done it sooner. I have an interest in running. I walked my first half marathon in November.... only wishing someday I could break free from the chains of being hopeless and morbidly obese, so I could jog/run like the others. And so, happy to say, my journey begins next week!!! So happy for you. what an inspiration you are for me and everyone else who has the pleasure of reading/watching your emotional comeback in life! You look gorgeous!!!!
  3. That's so awesome, Tinaatl! Way to go!! Can't wait to ready your story. Thanks for sharing. . My sleeve surgery is next Thursday in Cincinnati.
  4. Good luck everyone!!! MySleeveJourney: How are you feeling?
  5. Hello fellow Ohio-ans! I'm from the greater Cincinnati area and am set to sleeve next Thursday! I have been to Sandusky, Ohio to visit for fun. Beautiful place!!! can't wait to start the next chapter of my life after being sleeved.
  6. Hope all are doing well. My surgery is next week!!! Also anticipating eagerly! Take good care everyone.
  7. I realize I'm posting this late....but just want to add that I'm on board for an upcoming surgery with dr. Brad Watkins and I truly agree that there is something different; genuine, if you will, about him vs. other doctors. Met with dr. Curry, Northup & Watkins for seminars. Just extremely happy and satisfied with my choice to go with Watkins. Set for a gastric sleeve in 10 days...triumphing through the bland and ever-boring 2-wk liquid pre-op. Can't wait to begin the next chapter of my life. I've been overweight for 7 years. Best of luck out there to all newbies like me, and please keep us posted to those of you who've done amazing & have already joined the loser's bench.
  8. Hi Mokee, Congratulations on your sleeve! That's so exciting that you're down 92 lbs and counting... I decided on dr. Watkins over Northup due to insurance and distance too. Also, hubby & I met with dr. Watkins and we felt very comfortable. I never asked for a number of sleeves he's done. I'm certain dr. Northup is an amazing surgeon too. Hope you have awesome continued success!! Keep us posted. Getting nervous....with only 10 more days until surgery. liquid pre op 2-week fast is challenging especially with a hubby who's as fit as a fiddle and 4 kiddos. But I know I can do this. Best of luck to you and all of you!!!
  9. Hello healthygal, I'm scheduled for surgery jan 22, with same doctor. Excited, anxious & nervous to say the least. Pushing through my 2 week pre op liquid fast. I have 4 kids and am a stay at home mama, so it is far from easy!! Just wanted to reach out to you and others getting sleeved (or other surgeries!) & shout out good luck!
  10. Sabredy12, how did your surgery go & how are you doing now?
  11. I'm scheduled for surgery on Jan 22nd with Dr. brad Watkins. Attended Northup's seminar & decided against him. UC Med Cntr is now considered a Center of Excellence too. Happy so far with EVERYthing. Hope you're doing well!
  12. Congratulations on your decision! Sounds like you're well on your way to success. I too am a little nervous/excited...my sleeve surgery date is jan 22nd. Good luck to you!!!
